I now have a link to pics of the Lafayette Grading set in my signature line. Thanks for looking. I think that the grading of these has been pretty accurate.

I wish I had thought of that when I did a capped bust half dime grading set. I had every (non-plus) grade from 1 through 66.

How many total have you had to submit? I mean, surely you've gotten some duplicate grades along the way.

Gonna go up into the MS grades?

That's a pretty interesting set. All the more to me, since thus far I've never owned a single Lafayette dollar in any grade.

For the record, I'd like to say that I have on occasion handled higher quality coins than the Lafayette in Bob's set.

Just won a VF20 to add to the grading set. Hope to have it in a week. Need a VF25 and XF40. Had what I thought would be a VF25 but it graded F15 Cracked it out and tried again. Came back as VF35. Talk about gradeflation

A XF40 will soon be on it's way to me. That will leave a VF25 to look for to finish this circ set.

I will admit that circulated commems can be challenging to grade, but 15 to 35? Yikes!

I cracked the 35 out and sent it in and thought it would be a 25 and asked if they could compare it to my 20. They graded it a 20 and said that the other 20 should be sent in for a grade reconsideration. What to do?

The grading standards are fluid on the best days.... Especially within the close parameters PPC is working...His regrade efforts clearly demonstrate this issue....Still, the set he has built is highly commendable both in effort and investment. Cheers, RickO
