cherrypickers guide 6th edition?

Does anyone know if they have announced a release date for the next cherrypickers guide, or at the very least a general ETA?

Excellent news.
...glad to hear it!
This is MORE SIGNIFICANT than some other varieties already included in the book and very very easy to spot.

<< <i>There are several enthusiasts that are helping with the pricing this time around, this at the request of the authors and publisher. Hopefully this information will be used in the forthcoming edition and in all subsequent volumes. >>
As I pointed out though, it is not just the pricing! And if they go with more "enthusiasts" again...I will bet that the books will continue to be screwed up. The interest, liquidity, pricing and rarity information is a mess. Also there is a big difference between registry quality examples and average circulated examples for many of the varieties. There is so much that is left unaddressed in the books.

<< <i>I agree with the comments above. The Mercury dime section seems to be way off in valuing the dime. I just shake my head sometime when I see the pricing on some of the stuff. I wish they would have taken the help

I am not an expert on Mercury dimes, but have enough general numistmatic knowledge to realize Mercury dimes will not be included in
the sixth edition, volume I, covering half cents through nickels.
Variety values are very difficult, especially when actual rarity is not known. After the books publication, a few more hundred eyes will be scouring online auctions for worthwhile varieties.

This is correct but typically Vol II follows Vol I and I have been made aware of plenty of problems within Vol I. So if you think my statements are off base, you are mistaken. My comments focus on Mercury dimes but apply to both volumes.

With regards to the majority of the varieties that have been known for many years if not decades, I would consider this to be incorrect and online auction records are very easy to follow! For top variety registry participants, many things become abundantly clear in a short period of time, certainly in less than five years. With regards to newly discovered modern varieties you do have a point; it will take a little time to figure out.

Beyond all of the inaccuracies, this is another reason that the PCGS Registry should not rely on a print publication that is only updated several years apart.

The WDDR 006 in particular will be featured in there as it is the rarest and can be seen with the naked eye.

Maybe I should have said enthusiasts or specialists who are familiar with every aspect-pricing, rarity, etc-of a particular series and/or variety. I closely track and monitor my field of expertise-I know rarity and accurate pricing and all the differences between the individual dies. Registry stuff is a whole other ball game. I've seen some relatively minor doubled dies go for, as they say, "moon money" due to the registry thing.
They are not just pulling them out of a hat.

They always said it would be out soon but not this year.
Now they are saying this year and I believe them as they have not lied to me ever and i know they have been working on it.
