Fed-Ex same day delivery

I was wondering if any here have used this--Fed-Ex same day delivery? I hear it comes with a hefty price tag but could be worth it with high value items.

On high value stuff Registered mail is the only way to go. Slow but VERY secure.

Not sure how expensive as I ordered from B&H Photo on a Sunday at 10:30am and it arrived Monday at 1:00pm free FedEx shipping.

Armored vehicle transport is also fun. Can cost $2,000 to $9,000 though... Also, one security guard per million of value so that adds up. Very very slow here too.
It's cheaper to just put that Punch on breast in a USPS Priority box and ship it with no insurance. ;-)

I have shipped expensive items (darkside gold) registered and had total success. Cheers, RickO

I would suspect that if you are asking about same day delivery, you are not interested in 2 week delivery like is being recommended here? (Registered) image

My understanding has always been fedex won't insure coins? Is this correct?

Unless this recently changed, yes. However, there are a number of third party insurance options that will cover coins sent via FedEx.

Very secure but only insurable up to $25k. Odd how that has not budged with inflation.

True. That amount needs to be increased by a factor of 4 at least.

I use to work in the diamond industry and when shipping diamonds (sometimes a $200,000.00) shipment, we used a third party insurance company (such as ParcelPro) and they would require overnight (or same day) FedEx shipment only.

I do believe FedEx does not insure such items as coins and diamonds/jewelry, so if any are considering same day FedEx, then you must get third party insurance.

It's expensive, but super safe as you are covered no matter what.

In five years history, we had two diamond shipments go astray (one the driver took and the other got lost) and we had no problem getting compensated for a full dollar settlement.

Registered mail is the only way to go with high dollar value.

UPS was the first parcel company to offer same day delivery. Cost depends on the distance shipped but it is a very expensive service that doesn't cost that much less than if you would jump on a plane last minute and hand deliver yourself.
