I hear crickets and see dead people...

This place seems like a zombie graveyard as of recent months. The man upstairs keeps banning the good posters and all we talk about is coins left on railroad tracks and 2014 kennedys ( no offense to those who collect these, but...). Liven this place up! Live on the edge. Post your priciest, prettiest, and stories as well. Ask the taboo questions. Just follow the rules. We can still have fun despite them.

I notice more and more posts about very minor varieties and wonder if this indicates that many collectors are now priced out of the market for coins of significance. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case.
Numismatics is a tough field, very competitive with a great deal of pain and occasionally stunning successes so there is bound to be spillover on the forums. PCGS has done great work and HRH is a rock star, brilliant and a true leader with phenomenal knowledge of all series of coins. If he were in politics he would be president. Don Willis is a great personality in the coin business with a fund of wisdom and helpfulness to make this a healthy hobby. But they are not the type of gurus that can make everyone happy. In a male-dominated field, there are bound to be disagreements. Personally I wish there was some way to initiate a warning system for posters who veer off into controversial topics which make the moderators concerned.

Since I had more professional photographs taken of some of my coins at FUN, I've been trying to do this.

When was the last time anyone was banned? I can't keep up with it.

As for dead people meds help.
Same crowd around here as far as I can tell.
<< <i>No recent bannings that I know of.... quite a few new members....the forum has been quite stable. Excitement used to be on the Open Forum....alas, those days are long gone....sure was fun though. Cheers, RickO >>
I'd come home from work and read the OF with tears in me eyes and my sides hurt.
...and lots of alts, too.
<< <i>Is the malaise in the forum, which I notice as well, a reflection of forum rules or is it a reflection of a general malaise in the collectible field? >>
Many of the quality posters have moved on, either by lack of interest or have departed the planet. More telling I suppose is the lack of new members.
