Cherrypick From LCS Bid Board - 1945 50C FS-901 Missing Designer's Initials

I haven't made a good non-Bust half cherrypick in awhile, but I was able to snag this from a local coin shop's bid board on Saturday for $37.

After winning the coin and examining it further under a good light, I noticed that the right side of W in AW is there but faint. From the research I've done, this is typical of the variety. It was also reassuring to see the same die polish lines near the eagle's head on other examples of FS-901 online.

Do those images accurately depict what the coin looks like? The surfaces look odd to me.

Pretty much. The coin is blast white (probably from a dip at some point). What strikes you as odd?

What appears to be slight granularity on both sides, including many of the letters.

That is die erosion and flow lines

Interesting. I don't collect Walkers, and don't recall seeing something like this. Thanks.

Nice bright example for a short set!
There appears to be a die crack in the lower portion of the gown running between Leberty's two ankles. Unless perhaps, this is a scratch?
Can't tell from my device view. Looks more like a die crack, which adds some character.

That is, unfortunately, a scratch. Damned staples!

To anyone who thinks they have a Missing Designer's Initial Walker: I wish you all the luck in the world getting PCGS to agree.

Our host is extremely picky about what it gives the Missing Initial designation to, and I can't emphasize that enough. My experience is that if there is even the slightest trace of an initial (it's usually the right side of the W), then you're out of luck. If both of the coins pictured below were mine, for instance, I wouldn't even bother trying to submit them.
    When in doubt, don't.
