Hard to tell definitively based on the photos, but it looks heavily polished regardless.

1890cc's have been faked. The key marker for a fake is the ribbon under WE on the reverse is not
complete. Full ribbons are good to go but if the ribbon in not all there it's bogus.

Can't tell from this pic as the exposure blew it out.

The only thing those photos are good for is confirming that it is polished. PASS!

Much better, but the 'aerial' view does not work on U.S. Gold coinage, especially $5 Liberty gold. image

Looks perfectly good to me, and not polished. Maybe cleaned, but not polished.

Of course, it's tough to be sure based solely on images.

Edge (obverse at 8 to 9:00) looks funky, like the metal oozed out of the mold.

I think you did well to pass.

A coin like this should only be bought in a top tier slab unless you are an expert grader and authenticator and can examine it in hand under proper lighting with a good loupe.
