1901 Cents (Fused in SF Earthquake) Value?

I have two 1901 cents that were fused together in the SF earthquake. My grandmother handed them down to me. I would like to know if they are of any value or have any desirability for a collector. I appreciate any input. Thanks to all folks that pointed out my error in originally stating these were nickels

Thanks I thought that might be the case. She left me a box full of coins, thought this was the most interesting one. I do have some 64 Kennedy silver 1/2 dollars, wheat pennies, silver 64 Washington quarters etc. Guess I need to do some research to see if there is anything of value in her cache.

Fused in the SF Fire? The earthquake would do nothing to the coins but the fire sure would.

Probably need to see about a donation to a SF museum.

With decent documentation they'd be worth something more than a regular G-Fine Indian cent. But probably too late to recover that. Even as burnt culls they are worth more than a few cents. Heck, even a "stinkin" wheatie is now worth 3c-4c. And I'd certainly take these Indians over common wheats.

Also has anyone heard of a VOC Dutch Coin, supposedly dubbed the first New York Penny utilized in the colonies? I have a very worn coin, not sure of value.

But just so you know, I referenced the Earthquake as being instrumental in fusing the coins but do realize that shaking them up a bit would do nothing.

Yes, I am learning, but far from a novice about the world.

Times were a changing. The first S mint cent was 1908.

These two cents (as suggested earlier) can be a remarkable addition to a museum and you might be able to garner a nice legitimate charitable deduction for donating these to a 501(c)3 museum. Furthermore, your grandmother's family name could be noted and that would be quite a legacy to have.
