Thought a brief report might be FUN.
Arrived Tuesday in time to have dinner with some dealer and collector friends. It's become a semi-annual tradition to meet early in the week, catch up with friends and share some cool coins. I won't mention who organizes it lest he be pestered for invitations.
Wed. Boiler78 and I went golfing early, then headed to the show and had a great time previewing auction lots and perusing the bourse after 2PM. My favorite lots in no specific order were the Birch cents, silver (and sans-silver) cents, the Higley coppers and the silver Continental dollars - WOW!
Put in a token bid of 90K on one of the nicer Higleys thinking it would be a steal at that price and of course was creamed.........
Had a chance to catch up with many forum members to include Boiler78, TomB, NJCoinCrank, CJ, Regulated, AirPlaneNut, Coinasauris, EERC, PennyLady, CRO (and son), Valente, TAMU, TahoeDale, DWillis, Nic, BigMoose, Wnuck, Oreville, JoeO'Conner, Stealer, GeorgeKellog, Pistareen and other non-forum members. I always forget 1-2 so forgive/remind me.....
Rick's new book is impressive! I love the attribution guides and can't wait to see what's been updated in these revised editions.

Boiler78 and I stayed at the Rosen "Motel". One night I decided to put a few things in the safe but noticed that the bolts in the safe seemed loose. Well, it was completely loose and removable.
Great security.......

TomB had a coin I wasn't even looking for but when I saw it, jumped at the chance. I've always loved this design since I was a kid but could never pull the trigger as most of the FH coins looked marginal - this one was hammered and pretty to boot! This is the definition of full head!

Spent quite a bit of time looking for special holders with very few on the floor. This one tickled my fancy since it was pretty and a VAM (1a) to boot! Interesting that the dealer took the time to look.

One of the more interesting slabs was this special edition made by PCGS when a group visited them in 2014. A member of the group didn't want to keep their's so it became available.

Made a few other token purchases for fun and figured that since generic gold was on sale (compared to it's historic high), bought a few more MS64 PCGS Saints.
Came home with 2 new hats. Bought 2 coins from CRO, a Doily and a 1oz gold Elephant in a OGH!
The other was a cool hat given to me by a dealer friend who shall remain anonymous lest they get swamped with requests.

Friday the PCGS luncheon was held. Don Willis gave a nice presentation on the new "aggregator" that's been developed by PCGS. Now when you visit your registry set, there's a "shop" button added to the left margin where you can shop for coins you need. There are many websites I never visit and it's nice to now see what they have to offer. For the time being there is a feedback button top right as well so if you have suggestions, let them know. Here is the slab given out at the luncheon. Neither PCGS nor NGC gave out regular samples at their tables this year!

Weather was cool in Orlando but compared to Seattle, was very tolerable.
Headed out yesterday about 3pm - it was a pleasure to have Direct TV on the flight home last night and see the SeaHawks win.

Both HA and SB had future attractions in their cases - the Pogue coins in particular are very impressive, as you would expect.
Thanks to the staff's of both for the opportunities to see the coins close up and in hand.

BTW an experienced thief can defeat the door on those junk hotel "safes" in 10-15 seconds. Bolting them down only serves to give the pry-bar additional leverage. Their surest purpose is to concentrate all of your valuables in one place.

That quarter is gorgeous!!
Hope to attend one of these years.

Valuables were left with security at the show - I never trust the safe for anything more than my laptop or small amounts of cash.
Interesting side note. I upgraded a coin and will probably lose money on it, and I downgraded a coin which will make me a good deal more. . . .

I also throw in "token" 90k bids when I'm not busy grinding the peasants under my Gucci loafers.
Brad Karoleff bought a copy at the show and jokingly complained about the price. I mentioned that I bought HIS book for $500! And I do a ton with early quarters.
<< <i>Thanks for supporting the Kickstarter project for the book. Supporter's copies were sent out just before the show.

Picked my copy at the PO today! Looks Nice!
I noticed the carpet and beds in your photo before the safe. I believe the concierge at the Hyatt could get Bud Light for you if they don't stock it.
