ManorcourtmanManorcourtman Posts: 8,484 ✭✭✭✭✭
I've been submitting Modern orders since 2002 and never remember them being this bad. Anyone else recall Modern being this long? Express now 2 weeks? Wow.......

Express 9 18
Regular 22 24
Economy 36 35
Modern 29 37

I follow the numbers daily. Not even close to a record. Been exceeded on numerous occasions. Too may to list

They did not work 4 days around Christmas and 3 days around New Years. So based on the way the calendar was this year, they are backed up a bit.

A bit? I think a bit is a bit of an understatement!! Express orders should not take two weeks in most everyones opinion!! I have a modern order (First Strike label) in since 12/2. I am about ready to have it shipped back and tell them to forget about it. For an $18 label and a $16 fee I expect quicker service. Their 1st Strike label states "Delivered within 30 days of Initial Release" Well I don't think asking for them to have it graded within 30 days of Receipt is asking for much! Geez.

Wonder if there was an "unexpected" influx of submissions right before end of year....to catch the cheaper rates?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I do think that if you pay Extra for a service you should get it and if they can't do it they should not charge you for it..... Been there done that so now I just send all or most of my Submission's in Economy it's going to take just as long might as well save the $$$.

The turnaround times they provide are a "target" and not in any way a guarantee.

It would be nice if they did guarantee the Express Service since it's the pricey premium option.

Remember back in the day when they used to guarantee submissions? If they missed, they gave you freebies. Remember?
I for one do not mind longer wait times. It means my coins are being graded correctly.

Yes I do was like one for one if not in time. I think I sent in 150 coins one time and they missed it by a week and they gave me a 300 coin submission freebie, That was a good one. But as for the longer wait time's does not mean they are being graded any better then any other time, Maybe some over time needs to be put in play. image

if a business creates a target, the business has created an expectation on the part of the customers.

When the business doesn't meet customer expectations, the customers reconsider their business dealings with that business.

This thread, and its discussion of customer dissatisfaction and considering choices in the marketplace, is illustrative of that process. Anyone read Gerry Fortin's blog lately? It seems to me that he's going through the same thought process and for that reason (and some others), he's says he will be taking some of his business elsewhere. And I can see his point. He's a for profit business and his current arrangement isn't meeting HIS customers demands and therefore not meeting his demands, so he's going to modify his business practices. With the respect that the sticker company gets these days, I'm sure many could be thinking the same way and saying, "no matter which company's plastic holds this coin, if I have that sticker it is a testament to quality" (or something along those lines)

    they are what they are

surely our host monitors this and considers it's level of staffing
maybe some of the additional submission order fee may of been just for such
adding some graders especially for express level
everything in life is but merely on loan to us by our appreciation....lose your appreciation and see

Don't kid yourself. I shipped a package on 12/2/14....It was ready for pick-up on 12/6. They marked it as 'received' on 12/23.......
