I know the TPG's are very lenient with scarce early coins but I don't understand this one. Link: http://www.stacksbowers.com/BrowseAuctions/LotArchive.aspx?AuctionID=6014&Lot=4029

My 1795 has adjustment marks also.
It's been to PCGS twice.
Those girls used some rough rasps them.

Because it has streaks and swaths of silvery brilliance interrupt otherwise bold olive-charcoal obverse toning.....

I dont' understand how a VG10 has any silvery brilliance, adjustment marks or not......

I can't decide if it's PMD or adjustment marks. Many of the early European pieces I collect have adjustment marks, it was just part of the minting process back in the day.

I have no problem with the coin getting graded. I bought a Vf25 FH dollar years ago; I asked a seasoned dealer about it, and he had only critical things to say about it. I sent it in for regrading and it got upgraded to VF30.

I think price realized reflected the eye appeal, looks like impure materials that when rolled into a sheet stretched. Personally would be more concerned of the reverse.
