    Awesome coin!

I love the hair strand detail, and the obverse cracks are great.
    When in doubt, don't.

    1.8-2.0M$

How about Lot 5504, the Garrett 1792 Birch Cent NGC MS65RB*? This incredible coin, pedigreed back to David Rittenhouse, the first Director of the United States Mint, sold for $200000 in 1981. A more historic offering I can't imagine. I could see this surpassing 3M$:

Nice coin but you'd have to break it out of the slab to grind those periods off.

If I only had to pick one coin from the FUN sale, it would be a tough choice between the Chain and the 1792 Quarter. I'd probably pick the Quarter.

Beautiful Chain! Wow...this one would fit well with my ANACS G4 example!

    $1,750,000 - not a penny less.

I would have guessed that it might approach $2,000,000 considering the history of the coin. But with all of the very significant high end inventory coming to market in the near future, I think that $1.2 million is more probable.

But for whoever pays a million plus, for this beautiful work of art, I hope they crack it out and handle it very gently in their hands for a U-Tube video, before sending it back to PCGS RAW........

    Amazing.

I wonder where it resided until the 1879 sale. image
Coins like this are national treasures, imo.

This is the nicest one I've ever laid my eyes on!!

  • A beautiful Chain Cent for sure. I think it's got a few bids left in it, but I don't see it being a $2M coin. I'll say $1.586M. Just a complete guess, of course.

This must be a different variety OBV than the other Chain Cents that I have seen in the past in which LIBERTY looks horendious. This one is quite appealing! Must be the "period" variety...still waaaaay outta my price range.

That coin is unreal. Can you imagine a Strawberry Leaf large cent in that condition.

If I had the money, it would sell for at least $1.5 million.

Maybe 20 years from now it'll be seen again, this time with a reserve of 20+ Million and owned by a wealthy Chinese factory owner
