Not crazy but some of those "bank rolls" are as genuine as a porn stars moan!
Only a few of the edges are toned and the end roll had absolutely no color. The edges should be uniform in color and they are not. Ever open a roll of anything from the 50's? the edges look identical.
So this has been sitting in a bank for 110 years and there is no color? Let me think...there was a small catastrophe in San Fransisco AFTER this rill was put up and it's still in pristine shape...maybe it looks like it was made yesterday because it was
Seems there's a never ending supply of Morgan rolls. This particular one must really entice bidders, with a CC on one end. $5750 with 2.5 days to go. Think it will reach 7k?

This neutral feedback for a roll advertised as a Gem BU roll of 1961-D quarters would give me pause, too, as a buyer:
Funny how 2 BU 1961 D's ended up on ends of so-called UNSEARCHED OBW rest all AG

The roll in the vid was purchased for $2600 from valleyforgecoin, found the FB with the url to the OP's video. What's up with the SDB story?
Scroll down to the 4th FB. Most of the coins are probably 62/63 maybe a 4 sprinkled in and all common dates. IMO the buyer paid double retail. unwraping FB/vidurl
I haven't cringed as much since watching episodes of "The Office."
Nice detective work, Morgansforever! That seller has a number of Morgan rolls for bid, including one up to 3,550.00 now. Miraculously, all the coins are blast white, and several rolls have a CC on an end coin! Amazing! They all are in the same nice even brown paper rolls. The last original roll of coins that I saw was a roll of IHC's found in a desk and the paper was absolutely disintegrating. No way those rolls are 100+ years old, with all the effort it takes to peel the paper back. Another triumph of hope over experience.

Thanks, actually I was looking for FB pertaining to Morgan rolls and just stumbled on the one in the vid. Curious as to what the final hammer will be on that CC roll, currently at $5750. I'm guessing it will surpass $6k with ease.

eBay Seller Valleyforgecoin is a known scammer. He has knowingly sold counterfeit PCGS holders on eBay and elsewhere. Long story short, I bought one and had to get local law enforcement involved to get my money back. He's pretty young so we had to contact his parents who guilted him into paying me back.
By "the 'teens" are you referencing this: https://www.google.com/patents/US1339808 ? There's also a referenced 1901 invention with two rollers where one placed the wrapper on the rollers and then turns them to wrap a stack of coins. The interesting thing is the 1919 patent includes this:
<< <i>My present invention relates to an improved coin wrapping machine, of the hand operated type, which is designed for accuracy and facility in performing its functions, and which may be adapted for use with coins of various denominations, to wrap the usual paper covering over the roll of coins, the tucking in of the ends of the wrapper being accomplished by the operator after the roll is made. >>
Note "the usual paper covering" - means by 1919 these were definitely considered common.
The earliest patent for coin wrapping I've found is 1878 - https://www.google.com/patents/US209985, which shows a die-cut rectangle with fold-over ears. BUT the form of the blank is NOT part of the patent claims, nor is a patent for it referenced. But an "original" 1878 roll per that invention would have solid glued flat ends.

No, the one you reference from Chamberlin is quite late, well after Batdorf's seminal patents while at Auto Coin Wrapping Machine Co and Universal Coinwrapping Machine Co. Take a look here:
I sent Valleyforge (seller) a note regarding this CC roll, on Dec 8th and have not yet received a response. bob
Dear valleyforgecoin,
Just curious how you think that this is not a made up roll? Yes the bank existed but it was out of business in 1903. Paper rolls of this type (machine rolled) did not come about until at least 1909 and perhaps later. So, how is this not a made up (for ebay) roll? Certainly it would be easy to do today.

Note to self when opening OBW silver dollar rolls:
Use gloves....and a hard table w/o any cloth/felt protection for when you start stacking them. Before sealing in the cointain, blow/spit away any dust inside the cointain that might contaminate the coin. You wouldn't want that! And only blow on one side of the contain as everyone knows only one side has dust. Slide the cointain hard across the table top as if you were sending a beer down the bar. A few scratches on the new cointain is no problem....especially if you just bought them.
Valley Forge are members of ANA, PCGS, NGC, and CAC....what's not to like?
OK...how do I get those 14 minutes of my life back?

original roll of "CC" morgans....what a sight
i for one would have mixed emotions about removing those from that roll
totally agree with bogus too
those edges would have uniform brown or black with that paper on them for 110 years

At least it wasn't over $5k spent
The paper isn't aged and is uniform. The end is not flattened some but is round.
The coins are marked from being IN the roll? Vs the rolling process vs being bagged first?
Then they are slid on the table.
Ah, wait, what's this date and mm? Looks it up: common and you hear the disappointment and realization really set in.
Even the edges are mostly untoned .
One end roll toner in the bunch? Just one? No red flag raised off that?
And there are more not mentioned (fewer spoilers here)
Watch the video for more painful moments.
