Common Franklin Half for Moon Money

What would lead a person to believe this common date Franklin half dollar is worth $2500 to $3000 in the 'information age' we live in today? Before you assume this person does not have access to the Internet, keep in mind the coin is offered on the Internet. This just makes no sense. Does this mean I can just randomly assign crazy high prices to anything I have and hope to get rich regardless of any logical explanation or reasoning? What is the thought process of these people?

I might be inclined to cut her a bit of slack.
She might have done a quick Ebay search, seen a moon money super high grade gem, and not had the knowledge or education to accurately assess her coin and circumstances.

The world is full of tired, sometimes over burdened people with stars in their eyes, hoping for some savior to sweep in and offer some relief to their pain and suffering.

Wow, heavy. I interpreted it as one each typical eBay scammer. The only thing missing in the blurb is wounded Vet.

    Edited for spelling.

While there are certainly hardship cases out there, I would judge this to be a sob story by a clever con artist.....too many touch points.....Cheers, RickO
