Should coin dealers have "Black Friday" sales?

I think they should. It would be a good time to clean out all the mistakes and dead product that clutters their cases. Money raised could be used to refresh their inventory.

    I suppose to some degree they all have stuff they're tired of looking at just laying around or stuffed away & forgotten.

    I just got rid of all of my mistakes and dead product. It took about two years. I only have left the real nice stuff.

    That doesn't make sense at all. 7 percent of 50 percent would be 53.5 percent. >>

    From the dealers that I talk too , and from when I had the store, Very little business was conducted the two days following thanksgiving. People are out shopping at malls an stuff for clothes, electronics and such, not coins.

    Why doesn't your local gas station have a sale on gasoline? Your utility company for any usage on that day? How bout calling your stockbroker for any specials that day?

    Black Friday the day Doctors cure all the poisoning's that happen from people cooking something they don't normally cook on Thursdays.

    Yes, the dealers should give a discount on all coins with a bird on it, namely a turkey! Many great coins with Eagles.image

    I do not think it would help much, since the coin market is small to begin with and most people are looking for bargains on other things at that time. Cheers RickO
