They are Carson Citys in old ANACS holders. Both are MS65, the 84 is 65PL(the chatter on the Rev is not marks just low quality die). I almost think the 81 would PL in todays market.

Nice cameo contrast against the fields image I would say that the 81 looks much more prooflike than the 84 that is graded PL.

I'm a big fan of CC dollars too. Also a big fan of older ANACS holders.
    The 84CC looks about 65
Did you get a good deal on the 81CC?

I would say I got a good deal on them, just back of 64 pricing. Mostly because the dealer doesn't like Anacs.

I would say if you got them back of sheet it might have more to to with the toning as I find it to be a negative in the eye appeal department on both coins and many times coins with splotchy or unappealing toning have to be sold at slight discounts vs. untoned specimens.

Good to hear because I don't think those two would cross at grade image

    Just my opinion.

Toning in hand is actually quite nice, this is point and shoot photography. The 81 has brilliant blue/pink while the 84 is golden all along the rim.
