CC crossover results...GTG ?

jayPemjayPem Posts: 4,121 ✭✭✭✭✭
Two for three...good results for a big league batter, but.... it was # 3 (DNC) that I really wanted, early date AU58 that I thought had a great chance...
I've only missed on two crossovers, both CBH in 58... crossing 58 busties to pcgs is tough to do !

At least these two crossed at grade...might as well make it interesting for you all and do a guess the grade !

    45
    58 (might go Unc)

And I love them both image

EDIT: I cheated and looked you-know-where image I agree with both assigned grades, more so the 1828. Looking at in now on my Mac (I was on iPhone before), that grade seems more accurate. image

But do you think you can get that black speck off near the Bust's ear? image

I think the carbon spot is there to stay.....in the alloy if you ask me, and just part of the package image

I was expecting a CC, but at least the Giants are going to the World Series!

XF and MS. I like the '28. Looks like a typical 62.

I don't cross much. I get a better shake with raw. PCGS is too conservative, and then there's the premium.

Probably right. But it doesn't look as black and opaque as most carbon spots. I wouldn't be surprised if it could be removed or lightened. I'd be concerned about its appearance after treatment, though. A shiny white spot isn't a lot better.

Lance, I agree but attempting to remove the spot would be a mistake IMO....it's not such a big deal in hand. The only thing that makes this coin not so ho hum is it's
color, messing around with it to the point that it may need dipping would be a dopey move image

Right on with the grades BTW...XF40 and MS62 !
The 58 that DNC stays in it's ngc holder....I'm usually one for cracking out as well, but in the case of eye popping 58's I think it's better to leave them in the wrong holder
than take a down grade. The price drop is too extreme image

That '28 is a nicely struck and preserved coin.....Cheers, RickO
