In Boosibri's Trophy Coin thread a new member, Browe, posted a coin picture with a comment that he has had the coin for over a year but he still enjoys looking at it. Do you have a coin, medal of other Numismatic artifact that you really enjoy looking at?? It could even be a catalogue or book that you find yourself drawn to repeatedly. I know that I have some medals that I inevitably look at whenever I search through a box to find something, they just seem to satisfy my coin-nerd soul.

Do you have something like that?? You don't have to post a picture(though that would be cool), but what sucks you in Numismatically speaking every time. And thank you, Browe!!image

    My images are ok... But I am definitely not the best when it comes to nailing a coin... But will give you guys an idea of probably the most viewed coin that I own... It`s only in a MS64* holder but the smile factor is all there... image

    Some things "pop out" or stand out. I cannot say they're "eye candy". They're just likable to some and collectible to others. Sort of like our phone chats. Some things in my day are a highlight.

    Over the course of the past 5 years, I tried to complete this set, by purchasing raw coins that were problem free.
    It didn't start out that way (problem free). Submitted these for grading, recently.
    Of course they will not look the same in PCGS holders, but … I just gotta know "How good's my eye, Candy ? "

    While I'm mainly a U.S. type collector, I have a few British Conder tokens that always amaze me for their artistry, themes, age, and condition. Here is a favorite of mine that I acquired in 2008 and I always enjoy seeing. It is catalogued as a Hampshire Portsmouth 61 (rare) with an edge inscription of "PORTSMOUTH HALFPENNY PAYABLE AT THOS SHARPS." Thomas Sharp (1770- 1841), was a hatter, antiquarian and numismatist.

    It commemorates a critical sea battle during the Ango-Spanish War where ships would align themselves along side of each other to fire their cannons (these type of naval warships were called "sail of the line"). British Admiral Jervis led his 15 ships to defeat the Spanish 27 ship fleet in the "Battle of Cape St. Vincent". The token shows Neptune, king of the sea, recognizing Jervis' achievement.

    There is more to learn about the history of this battle and it's significance. The condition of the token for its age is impressive. And, I enjoy the seeing Neptune's horse chariot and the reverse misspelling of "pursued".

    Although this isn't even my favorite coin, I always pick this coin up and rotate it to see the reddish colors. The photo doesn't do the red colors justice as the red is more like a shiny red copper cent when turned into the light. I'm not sure if it's the copper in the coin that gives it the color or what, but it looks much better in hand than in photos.

    It's not very valuable but, the size is almost the same and it looks so very cool I have it in a plastic holder
    and keep it on my desk.

    I confess that I don't look at my coins as often as I should. They mostly stay in the box and most of my viewing is of the pictures of them I've posted online. image

    At risk of overposting this one, I must say it is the one that visually grabs me the most every time I go through the box and look at my actual coins (rather than just the pictures of them).
