OT USPS question
Sent a item out Aug 5th and on Aug 7th and tracking showed We attempted to deliver your item at 12:03 pm on August 7, 2014 in LIVINGSTON, NJ and a notice was left because an authorized recipient was not available. No further information is available for this item. Well it has sat at the post office forever well since the 7th according to tracking and it did say after 15 days it will return to sender if no one picks up the item now my question is why does it state "No further information is available for this item" now ? I am kinda getting worried since I Googled the persons name and it pops up with thislink btw yes I did insure the item yet I have yet to hear from my buyer wondering where his package is ? Maybe he already got it and it doesnt show on tracking?

I have not heard from my buyer but I do have the money and have yet to hear from the buyer and I have been tracking the package and just last night the wording changed to "No further information is available for this item".
I thought the item was going to get mailed back to me since no one signed for the package and after looking up the guys name which Im not 100% certain its him in the article he does have the same first and last name and the same city/state/zip code

I have NO IDEA why this happens, maybe because the package requires my signature and someone else is at home and accepts them. The postman knows my family so I am not worried about this, but the tracking situation is strange. I suspect my postman enters something incorrectly when he delivers.
I always send off an email to the seller and let them know I got the package.
<< <i>Use the tracking number and call the local destination PO to see if it is still there. >>
This will take care of all your questions. Pluss you can get a phone number from your sale and call it.

Whenever I get a tracking message like this, I contact the buyer post-haste and let him know the item is waiting for him. If it doesn't show delivered within a couple days after that, I contact the buyer again.
<< <i>I can't say for sure that's the same guy but it's the same name and city and state... I haven't had an issue with the buyer and he does have excellent feedback since 2007 with recent feedback but the most recent was with me and another buy on same day and after that no buying or selling activity since aug 5th >>
On vacation? Could well have entered a "hold" with the post office so the package is being held instead of returned.
I googled this clown, got his phone number, called him up and he said isn't it a shame when you pay for a service like signature required and they don't follow through. He then told me if he made a claim, he'd keep the coins and they'd take my money and there would be nothing I could do about it.
I convinced him that would not be a wise decision on his part and things did work out.

<< <i>I take the DC numbers to the PO I mailed the package from and ask them to check on it. They see things the mailer doesn't see. The package was probably delivered days ago. If not, ask your PO for the number to call so you can check at the destination PO, or if they will make the call. >>
You can find the number yourself. At USPS.com go to find locations and enter the zip code of the PO you wish to contact. Click on the city name and it will give you a menu with address, phone and phax number!
