Pan PAC half dollar question please advise

Quick question - I would appreciate some input from some of you guys before shipping package tomorrow

I have a Pan PAC commem in a rattler holder graded ms66 I'm sending it to our host for a grade reconsideration - now when it comes to this issue would I be more beneficial with specifing a plus grade or holding out for a full grade upgrade. In other words would it be better to have this coin in a rattler graded ms66 or in a new holder graded ms66+? Hopefully it gets bumped to a 67 and this question won't matter but I'm curious to get some opinions on how I should fill out the grade reconsideration paperwork

Thanks in advance for all your help

When I have sent my own rattlers in for reconsideration, I have used a full point upgrade requirement. I haven't felt like I'd be gaining much going from a rattler 66 to a new holder 66+.

    The spreads between a 66 and a 66+ make the "+" attribution a no brainer to me. $3,500 in 66, $5,000 in 66+.

If it's a really nice 66 in a rattler then it's already valued at 5K+ by serious buyers. Give it the 67 shot and maybe you'll do even better under the current grading standards.

Thank you everyone for the advice and help - it is a very beautiful coin and hopefully does upgrade I will keep everyone up to date - on a coin like this if it doesn't upgrade right away would you try again? This will be the first time this coin has been submitted for reconsideration but with such a dramatic spread between 66 and 67 money it would make sense to submit it multiple times if it didn't upgrade the first time right?

Photos would help... But as other have said if it is a very PQ 66 rattler unless it made it into a newer 67 holder should already sell at 66+ monies.

If this was mine I'd try for a solid point upgrade and if it didn't MS67 then just have it CAC'd as a 66 in the old holder when it came time to sell.

I've been convinced - I will fill out the reconsideration sheet to only crack for a full point upgrade no + designation

Ha Catbert thanks as I couldn't find that pic image

Seriously Cacoinguy if I saw your Pan-Pac in a dealers case in a rattler I'd ask to see it...

In a newer edge-view holder I'd glance right past it while looking at other items in the case image

I think that a rattler 66 CAC at auction would likely get you most of the money of a 67. All of the floor bidders would be going "wow...I think that will upgrade".

There's a big price spread between 66 and 67 but I've seen a couple jaw dropping 66's sell for $6-7K.

NEVER let a coin remain in a rattler. PCGS was grading very low then.
