Small Group Of Early Date Walkers.......

Getting back to my collecting roots, my Wife (I hope she's resting in peace) and I started pretty much collecting Walkers. We would study them at the local shop and took a lot of time learning the difference between a slider and a full Unc Walker. That was before certification. Anyway, we used to collect later common dates blast white. So to start this little group off yes I bought a blast white piece and it's swirls with blasting luster.

I like this year (1916-D) as it has a nice strike, first year of issue, and I like the textured surface this piece has. Did I mention luster? image

Next is a 1916...... Nice satiny luster and also the textured surface I like.

A 1918-D................Again with the nice satiny luster.

And next not quite an early date by definition I guess, but I really like the eye-appeal on this 1933-S

    Pretty sure that 16d came across ebay 6 or so months ago, almost bought it myself. Those are all very nice and also the pictures are quite good too

    Beautiful choices in Walkers.........The 33S is a one year type coin as it's the only silver coin that year....I think it's cool. image

    That's a great group and those very early WLHs definitely have a different feel or fabric to their surfaces.

    Nice Walkers stman.
    I just sold ~25 AU58 CAC Walkers (1916-1933) to a dealer last month.
    That 1918D & 1933S was part of that groupimage

    As I'm sure Supertooth noticed, that is a monster strike on that 18D, a date not usually seen this way....and totally original to boot.

    Nice group there! I think I remember David Kahn having that 1916-D, he always has a nice inventory.

    When that 16-D sold at Stacks last year, it went for strong money and no sticker. It sure looks nice, as do the others.

    Thanks all, glad others found some of the same positive attributes that I do. These are the kind of coins I usually shoot for with no issues that one needs to explain away. I didn't say much about the coins as I figured they would speak for themselves. All of these are in PCGS holders AU-58 with those green things on the slab.

    The 1916 to 1933 Walkers are very tough in high grades. Love that '33S.

    I have near twins of those two 1916 Walkers. My 16 philly has more tone on the obverse, but my 16-D is identical.

    The early Walkers of 1916-1933 are my favorite types of coins. Yours are an exceptionally nice grouping with good strikes and nice surfaces. Thanks for posting them.
