HOF Signature Coins

A few folks have asked if the autographs on the PCGS HOF coin labels are originals or facsimiles .....

Every autograph is an original. Each label is individually signed by the Hall of Fame member and is 100% guaranteed to be original by PCGS.

PCGS has contracted with over 25 Hall of Fame members. The list of participants is a who's who of baseball's top stars!

A number of PCGS Authorized Dealers are offering these autographed coins. A pretty neat collectible!

I have compiled a Word document list of players and the PCGS numbers by coin that I can find so far. Includes total population if available by coin. Used Ebay, dealers and the population report search to find available numbers.

Doesn't want to upload as an file attachment to this post so if you would like it PM me with your email and I'll send it.

OK, here it is. Have to message the alignment to display with the forum formatting. It almost works. The first number on a line is for PF, the second for MS. Picture this as columns in the Word document.

If you see PF... or MS... I couldn't find a number for that one. Maybe they didn't sign any of that type or grade.

Take Wade Boggs as an example of population total.
    Wade Boggs -
    $5 PF ... MS...
    $1 529316 *103 MS...
    50¢ PF ... MS...
He signed 103 PF $1. No other numbers show up for him, so far.

Of note is that Pete Rose has two numbers for the halves. Must be two different labels.

Thanks to Don for providing the full list. I will add these names to my list for numbers when they become known.

I have 10 coins to submit.

    How are these labels requested?

What is the fee for these labels.

Like most special labels these are not available to the general member. Only by contract with a dealer who then has exclusivity. They then have deals with other dealers.

I have to believe that 'Charlie Hustle' autographs are right up there with the other icons of HOF Baseball.

Since Mr. Rose is banned from baseball and even banned from attending the Hall of Fame events, I doubt it.

    None the less;

That's why the note about him having two different signature PF half numbers and two different signature MS half numbers. None of the others do.

Just found Coin Facts $5 PF Linky
Shows he signed 300 $5 PF's and another Coin Facts page shows 344 $1 PF's signed, the most so far of any player. Price Guide for the PFS's is $1,650 for 69, $3,000 for 70. Seems a little high.

  • GRANDAMGRANDAM Posts: 8,785 ✭✭✭✭✭
Well,,,,, I want a MS not PF and $1650 is alot more than I would pay.

I could be happy with a MS69 coin though.

    Thanks, GrandAm image

Can you release how many player each has singed and is this a one time signing or can they sign more if needed at a later date?
