Last night I had the chance to get together with Lordmarcovan, Asheland and Savoyspecial.
It is always fun when you have the chance to meey up with fellow Darksiders, look at coins and share stories.

I do like that you all got together, that is nice. I would appreciate some company here as well. In Chicago you would think there are a lot more collectors, but the only club that I have ever been associated with is just far enough away that I do not make it there anymore. Harlan Berk doesn't return my calls (or lewd pictures for that matter). So its just the kiddo the gf and me.
Or, more realistically, me and my internets.

I even got my very first Ancient coin from Lord Marcovan's "Eclectic Box of 20"

Nice to see a newish face, sort of (where is Asheland's picture??)...even if he is wearing a liteside icon .

Hey, Savoyspecial is the barefooted one in that photo.
I'm standing behind the desk so you can't see my feet.
You can, however, note my increased obesity in the decade since my old "Holey Coin Hat" avatar picture was taken.
Ye Dead King's Castle was the envy of us all.
For comparison purposes, I meant to take a picture of my miserably squalid, tiny working space (piled so high with papers and wife and daughter's crap that the clutter heap comes up to the bottom part of the computer monitor). That tiny area (and the interior of our dinky trailer in general) almost look like something out of that "Hoarders" TV show.
Michael's office is not only impressive for its decor and tidiness- it's also HUGE. The picture above only shows less than half the room.
My first words to Michael upon seeing his righteous man cave were "you suck".
His walk-in office closet looks something like this:

Did you have shoes on?

And don't feel so bad, Rob, not everyone is entitled to some fancy man cave like Aethelred. My library, for example also has another name, and that name is "dining room". Much like my car has it's own fancy name, "Honda Civic."

I don't remember, actually. I think so. I'd been to the lake that day and walked around afterwards with wet feet stuck into my loafers, sans socks. Which made my normally stink-free shoes and feet rather, umm... fragrant.
The fact that the other guys aren't passed out from the fumes indicates that my shoes were still on.
<< <i>Hi Rob, after zooming in on the picture, I see, you still wearing that holy coin hat
>>
Michael looks exceptionally creepy with his Sutton Hoo helmet on, there.

There are a few members of our coin club that collect ancients, maybe not exclusively, but I see them in our "show & tell" occasionally. Of course, not everyone in the club collects them, but I would guess that 75% or more of our members have at least some interest in them and if we had a program on them or something like that most would enjoy it. We meet in Glendale twice a month and you're always welcome to join the fun and share your love of ancients and to try to get the rest of us more into them as well.

<< <i>Illini420, after seeing your name I was excited that there might be a club I didn't know about near Chicago to join. Then I realized that you were talking about CA. :-/ >>
I'm sure a forum gathering could be arranged during the Chicago ANA in early August
