Summer Solstice 2014 Newps

It`s a busy time of year for me so haven`t been on here very much... Anyway here`s a couple of new Morgans with the first one coming from a member on here that has collected some of the finest reverse toned Battle Creeks out there... The exceptional mirrors on this baby made me go against my normal collecting habit of obverse toned Morgans only... It was one of the best Battle Creeks from the original superior auction sale...
The second Morgan just arrived and it`s crazy beautiful! In an old fatty holder the bright cartwheeling surfaces explode...

That 83-O is crazy....and still in the fatty slab making it even cooler...can't believe I haven't seen that one before...do you know its history?...did someone clean out their vault?!

The one in the fatty looks like a great upgrade candidate though being in a fatty holder is a plus, not to mention the spectacular toning. Wonderful coins, gsaguy worthy.

More thanks guys! I hadn`t heard of the history Slammer but it`s the very first time I have seen it as well... Rick funny you should ask that...

It is getting to be a challenge to remember all the different names on my Morgans... Some I will always remember but as I get more and more it`s getting harder... Anyway as soon as I saw this coin it reminded me of something that stood out in my mind when I was a kid growing up on my dads farm... Once in awhile on the tomato plants I would see these amazing looking caterpillars and found out that when they transform they turn into a very big cool looking moth called a Cercropia Moth... Hence I named it with a name I will easily remember to identify it "Cercropia"...
