The FACEPALM medal @ CRO
A facepalm is the physical gesture of placing one's hand flat across one's face or lowering one's face into one's hand or hands. The gesture is often exaggerated by giving the motion more force and making a slapping noise when the hand comes in contact with the face. The gesture is found in many cultures as a display of frustration, disappointment, embarrassment, shock, surprise or sarcasm.

When I saw the medal, the first image I had was of me giving myself the Three Stooges salute. . . .
But an apology would be insincere.....

Regarding the medal, however, I am wondering if the gold color of the coins on the reverse is merely lucky toning, or was it made to look like the coins were gold, similar to the crown on the St. Patrick's Farthings.

advice: start some "worthwhile" threads.
At least that thread was interesting. Starting a thread about a thread that is gone......................
