i know i'm not playing for the potential fun of the thread but the only thing i can put in the blank is:

So, just when you think the US Coin Forum might be a waste of time, i realized i never thought even once it was a waste of time.

I reflect on the fact that I have spent thirteen years reading this forum and learning an incredible amount of coin history and facts. Then I feel good about the next thirteen years. (I do, however, miss the Open Forum) Cheers, RickO

I get to read some incredible research & history about some of the coins I've been interested in most of my life. I also really enjoy threads that help keep me current about some of my favorite Modern Bullion.

Most of the personal jousting is ego-driven, so when I find myself being drawn to it I try to back away. Some of that stuff is pretty normal so you have to discount some of it.

Some folks can't resist jumping into threads to make negative comments on things in which they have zero interest. Comes with the territory, I suppose. Ignore them.

And then, there are some people here who simply like coins. I suspect that they get the most enjoyment of all, which is really what it's about.

Along comes some type of major modern find!

And yes, between wading through the counterfeit posts and the bad eBay photography posts and the bad eBay listing posts and the "How the hell did this make MS63" posts, a jewel occasionally pops up which stirs the imagination and collecting fever.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

If I thought it a waste of time here I would cancel my subscription and sell my shares. But I was up 82% and doubled down. And I have some error coins in, waiting to get back so I can put them on my website and wait for another sucker to come along so I can rip them away from here and the BST and ebay…. and direct them to MY place image

NOT hardly. But this post does generate more excitement than "+1", right ?

You learn about a certain coin's existence and value...and then you see it on Ebay for a "you suck" buy it now worthy price and actually are the first to pull the trigger.

    (all hypothetical of course) image

    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.

You get to see how other people think and realize how diverse we really are. Not that I am a proponent of diversity for diversity's sake. That is just the way it is and will always be.
And I ain't lying this time.
