If I remember, the checklists in retail from 2006 were just slightly different from hobby. The hobby ones had the hobby only inserts and retail did not have the hobby only inserts on them. I remember a lot of people collecting both checklist sets even though the differences were very minor. Six cards in each checklist set if my memory serves me correctly.
Both 2005 and 2006 have checklist variation for each checklist. If I can remember I will scan both versions of all Seven cards (2 in 2005, 5 in 1006). So 14 checklists in all. That wording could apply from 2011 or 2012 since each year had checklist cards.

I though the same thing the first box I opened this year and have yet to find an answer. Unsure if it is because all the rookies already have the word "rookie" on the card but you would think they would sill put the RC shield on there. Maybe it saved them a few bucks on ink?

Coincidentally, I just came to this thread to ask the same thing. Are you collecting the set? I'm collecting the Jonny Gomes black back cards, both regular (#234 and #135 WS Game 4: Gomes Knots it Up), and cameo (AL HR Leaders, and WS Games 1-3, 5-6). I'm still looking for #234 and WS Games 2 and 4. I also have a few other black backs that I've picked up and would trade for any of the three that I'm missing.
Is anyone else going after the black back set, or know anyone that is? hugh_august on eBay is trying for it, and it looks like 2-3 others are consistently bidding on the cards.

Patience has been rewarded, it's only been 7 months since I redeemed this card. Happy that it finally arrived but a bit flummoxed about why they couldn't give Willie a red pen. At least Topps provided a letter of explanation (somewhat).
I checked the Aaron's that are on the 'Bay now or have recently sold and they're all signed in blue ink too AND #'d to 65. So it looks like Topps screwed-up and forgot to bring red pens to share with Hank & Willie.
The only red ink Aaron or Mays (ironically NOT numbered to /65!) was Jim Parker's redemption he showed-off on p. 62 of the thread. That looks like a 1/1 now!

For those who have called 2014 Heritage a wrap, or are just tying up some loose ends......How did it rank this year?
There was a lot hype early on, I was curious about the post mortem.
From what I have opened, there were highs and lows.
With everything that was advertised with this set, I feel let down from what I actually found. (still have some unopened, so the hope is still alive).
Grade B-
But with expectations so high, I'm not sure they delivered. Partly because the cool stuff was few and far between.
