I believe posters have a right to privacy and the PCGS and NGC forums are just fine the way they are.

My opinions are my own from running a coin business online and setting up at shows. I have seen a number of individuals use their own or business name in the forums to promote their business or for other reasons. That's just fine with me but should be their choice. If a poster wants to keep their name private (and why not for security and privacy reasons) that should be their right.

Numismatic collecting has many areas: I am just as proud of my stacks of world currency (bank notes $100 or less), BU Rolls of 1968-S, 1969 cents I put away in the 60's as my investment grade certified rare coins or double eagle collection of over 100 pieces all slabbed. When I got back into coins in 1986 there were 2 shops in near me. One was a guy with grossly overpriced certified coins and an attitude (folded shortly thereafter) and another, a shop run by a retired NASA engineer who set up at shows. It became obvious he was a straight shooter and knew more about numismatics than the other guy. The retired NASA guy had much more fair prices (CDN ask +10%) and did not tout some "investment" coin one should be buying as "it all adds up" he said. I bought the second gold coin there, a 1900 circulated $5 Lib for $150 (raw). Another purchase was a 1928 XF $2.50 Indian for $175 (also raw). PCGS had just come on the scene and certification was new.

One should concentrate on what they like, can afford, and be proud of.

<< <i>You all do realize that many people who "blog" and do "talk radio" or TV "BAIT THE AUDIENCE" I have a Son in Radio in Chicago. With first hand knowledge he informs me "Dad we bait the audience" with the topic. Do you think maybe She does too? >>

<< <i>Lol. My own pocketbook is just fine, thank you. I am bought and paid for by no one. IF you have no dog in this fight then why is practically every post you make some disparaging comment about Laura or Legend? That is not the pattern of someone with no dog in a fight >>

I think you only rush to Laura's opinions and sides virtually all of the time.
