A Legend Morphy Auctions update

Here's a little info on what's going on. This last sale was the final joint venture sale for Legend Numismatics and Morphy Auctions. From here on out, it's Legend Rare Coin Auctions - Legend has taken over 100% of the sales going forward. We just weren't happy with the status quo.

The software is no longer going to be in house - it's gonna be tried and true auction software. The imaging will no longer be regular auction imaging - it's gonna be tried and true numismatic imaging. The consignments are spectacular for the July sale - original proof sets from 1856-1859 are the lead consignments.

All aspects are improvements so far and Laura will continue to try to make things even better.

As a possible consigner I am happy to hear your pictures may be better. As I multiple buyer of coins in last nights auction I'm glad you did not start with this auction.

This has my attention. Can you elaborate at all?

Interesting.

As I noted on another thread, I did not think it appropriate that each bidder's town and state was displayed during the live bids. For many, that's equivalent to just listing their names.

Improved photo quality will be a huge plus.

It will be interesting to see this play out. With a firm with Legend's reputation taking over full control, I can't imagine it being anything but a very positive thing for the collecting community. Good luck to them.

My only question:

Not related to Legend taking 100% control.

Do these auctions make it more difficult for Legend's to keep a full stock of inventory for retail sale?
