awe crap, i just changed them again recently. good thing the process is quick.

<< <i>You need to change everything, not just your password. The hackers got every ounce of info on you. Once you change your password you MUST change your secret question, your home address, your email, your first and last name, your birthdate, or basically assume a different identity.
I just got 20 years younger.

Only good thing is I'm a small fish in a big ocean of info they have now.
Reckless faith in the dollar's strength is reckless. Tariff proposals have demonstrated this.
<< <i>The additional threat is here is the CC number you have on file with your ebay account. If the hacker got enough personal information your CC account is under threat. While ebay is saying "no evidence of any unauthorized access to financial or credit card information," I remeber Target initially whitewashing their big hack. I'm taking the additional step of telling my CC co. that my CC number and personal info was compromised on-line and I would like a new card and number issued. >>
lol i just got my cards all new numbers this year too except for one that is en route, so i guess it is time to do that again. now that process will be intensive. getting numbers and updating everything. shoo-weee.

I suspect the target was the CC info. Too many electronic trails back to an ebay account hijacker. Big demand on the black market for CC info.

<< <i>Well am I the only one who has NOT heard from ebay telling me to change my password??? I mean 2 reports claim ebay has put the word out, but I have not seen a thing till these reports.

<< <i>They were hacked in late February and only realized it now? >>
I noticed numerous phishing emails lately that I hadn't gotten in a year +. Somehow it must have cost them a few dollars. It's the only thing that would pique their interest.

<< <i>I phoned Ebay and asked why I hadn't received a notification email. There response was they have to notify 4,000,000 customers, and btw advised me to change my password as they were hacked, but no cc info was obtained. >>
Oh eBay. If only there was a way to notify all 4,000,000 people at the same time!

I can see changing usernames, passwords and even credit card numbers but how the heck do we
change our names, phone numbers and mailing addresses.
And like said all ready, it was two months ago wouldn't the hackers been using this information yet?
This was on NBC News:
Personal information for all of eBay’s 145 million active buyers could have been accessed in a hack two months ago, a company spokeswoman said, as the online marketplace advised all users to change their passwords Wednesday.
The database contained encrypted
passwords and was compromised from late February into March. The hacked database contained customer information including names, phone numbers, birth dates, home addresses and email addresses. It did not include financial information, the site said.
Information for PayPal, an eBay subsidiary, is encrypted and maintained separately.
“Cyberattackers compromised a small number of employee log-in credentials, allowing unauthorized access to eBay’s corporate network,” the company said in a statement. EBay has seen “no evidence of any unauthorized access to financial or credit card information, which is stored separately in encrypted formats.”
