Ebay is asking its users to reset their passwords due to the unauthorized access to our corporate information network. This may result in a delay of service due to the high traffic volume. We ask for your patience and that you return to eBay soon. In the meantime, please be assured that no activity can occur on your account until your password is reset.
well done Ebay >>

Now I am getting it too, how do I change it to get rid of this page or I have to wait?
Receiving the same message bronzemat, can't even log in the change it. Guess I'll try again later.
EDIT: May be a great time to check out ending auctions for those that can log on. Could be millions of users that can't log on to participate in an auction.

Spoke with my oldest son yesterday. He works in the deep dark recesses of cyber-security, the kind of job where if he tells me who is working for at the moment he will have to kill me-LOL! I asked if eBay hack was bad and he responded, yes it was. Unlike many of the news reports he said change both your eBay and PayPal passwords. The few reports I read said PP was secure and you did not need to worry it. What I find interesting is eBay's home page has no mention whatsoever, and I have yet to get any kind of notice from the bay. I changed both passwords last night, ugh- I have too many password/username combos!
Note that ebay said the hack got into a limited encrypted data base but don't worry cause the credit card info is in an encrypted data base.
If we learned nothing else from last year's Target Store hack we should realize that such things will not be shared with us in a timely manner and that as time goes on the problem is much worse "than originally thought."

News reports said "stolen" employee credentials were to access the data. Were they really "stolen" or was this an out-and-out inside job? Who in eBay has access to this type of credentials? eBay certainly isn't giving its users much information. So far (Thursday afternoon) I still haven't received any notice from eBay.

Thats fine, but can you bid if you cant login?
If they have my full name, birth date, and address, I guess it's possible they could pretense call and get even more info from other sources.
The punishment for hacking crimes needs to be much higher than it is.

Punishment is usually a better job.
