    Vern: I had several nice Seated Quarters that were purchased years ago the "raw days" (including a51-O, 52, 53 no arr. and several tough S mints). Just got too impatient and sold all of them. image

    Lots of very attractive Seated coins being shown, however I have
    not done much with any of the series. I once thought putting together
    a Quarter collection in XF 45 would be the way to go, but there are so
    many stoppers, I gave up.

    ElmerFusterpuck: that 1862 Quarter is just too nice for words. OMG !!

    I will add an image or two to this thread... But need to space out my
    postings as I really do not have that many Seated coins.

    Lenny,

    If memory serves me right, I sold it to Walt Kennedy.
    The only 1847 coin I ended up keeping is a Half Eagle
    in PC 58 ( looks ms 64 ) that I picked up from Broadstruck.

    I am not as familiar with Seated coins as I am with Barbers.
    The date, 1872, for Half Dimes, is it normal that they are so
    poorly struck ? Nice original coin, regardless; I might have
    waited for a fully struck one however. JMHO

    Mike, I agree its a bit soft. I'm much pickier with quarters. I just grabbed a few half dimes over the years because its a cool and extinct denomination. I think I have a half dozen commons.

    Thanks on the 69-S half. It is one of my favorite coins, and happens to be very photogenic image

    Here's one that the FedEx man brought to me today, from the recent Heritage auction. I now only need the CC Arrows 10C and 25C to finish the Complete CC Type set (I have 11 out of 13 coins)... while this coin is a little darker, I really love the look of it.

    A parade of lovely seated coins everyone.
    I vote the 53NA as the toughest quarter in the no motto years of the series.
    I've been able to pick up raw, serviceable 42 sm date (abundantly available IMHO), 49o, 60s, but I've only seen 3 NA for sale and they're all VF and costy. Suppose they're hoarded somewhere. Thought a VG, or several, would show up in the 6 months I've been looking.
    We're all born MS70. I'm about a Fine 15 right now.

    Wow Paesan, IMO the 1848 Seated Quarter is a "buster". I also like the 1871-S, 1851-O, 1860-S and 1864-S. Forget the BIG TWO cc's unless you're Carlos Slim's son!!!!! ...And can find one!!!!
    ...Sorry I gave these babies up years ago.
