Looking for a B&M shop in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area

RelaxnRelaxn Posts: 1,105 ✭✭✭✭✭
Anyone aware of a Coin shop in the DFW area? I only know of one coin shop and I was wondering if there are any other shops in the area... I have only been here about a year and just looking for some diversity.

Thank you

Does Heritage have a retail operation in Dallas?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    Any others....

Does Heritage have a retail outlet?

I will call them and ask.

Also, if you're not familiar with buying coins from shops in Texas, there is a sales tax no purchases!

Heritage does "retail" but I do not think they have a store that I can go and browse....

As of 9/1/13, there is no longer a sales tax on collectible coins and bullion.

You should check out Arlington Coin in the small town pantego. It is in the middle of Arlington. They sometimes have some nice stuff. In Fort Worth you have J&J Coins ( some good stuff, generally has tons of 90 percent and quite a bit of gold on hand besides slabbed coins) on Williams road, and Fort Worth coin on 7th street in fort worth. ( not a big selection here) I just picked up a nice ngc au 58 1955/55 double die for 1400 dollars from J&J a few weeks back.

    Awesome...

I think I am going to the Show this weekend in Ft. Worth and I think that will help me meet some people and get more acclimated to the area. Thank you for the responses.

I deal with these guys all the time at local coin shows. They are very friendly easy to deal with. If you don't see what you like, ask they probably have it in the back.

Heritage is not a brick-and-mortar type of shop. They are a glass-and-steel type of corporation.

Yes. Really. I used to work there.

Yeh, when you have to call to visit the 'shop', that's not much of a brick-and-mortar type of place!
  • RelaxnRelaxn Posts: 1,105 ✭✭✭✭✭
Yes, the Heritage location is a call ahead... It is not a browsing type place unless you are just looking to browse the stuff they have in their SHOWROOM.

I am hoping to make some connections this weekend at the show and then I will also Mark up on some of his recommendations.

If you make it east to Tyler, there is a great shop there. It's Texican Coin and Bullion Company. It's probably one of the nicest B&M shops I have ever visited.

BTW, Tyler is a dry city... so if you have to drink after your visit due to any coin related frustrations, you better bring some with you! Or go to a restaurant! image

    That is a nice one!!

If you are going this weekend I would call ahead as I know Arlington coin used to shut down and set up at the show, J&J coins is closed on Saturday unless you catch him working.

Annie, that's so true, if there's a local Coinshow the Arlington guys are usually setup and won't be at the shop.
