When you send a damaged chrome in to Topps, is it replaced with the exact same serial number? Just curious...

<< <i>and one last note I have to say, many post bad things about Topps at times but I had a Jason Kipnis chrome that was damaged on the back and sent it to Topps a little over a week ago.....believe it or not I got back a brand new Kipnis Chrome today....bravo Topps.
Craig, to be honest I did not pay attention to the serial number on the one that I sent to them that was damaged. In fact I was totally shocked that I actually got a Kipnis card back in return...thought for sure it would be another chrome card or even some other substitution.....It is a great question, does anyone know???
Ad Panels (I'll list by the first card on the left except the WS at the end of the list): 2013 Batting Leaders, 2013 RBI Leaders, 2013 Pitching Leaders, Asche, Capuano, Cuddyer, Fielder, Gyorko, Infante, Latos, Moustakas, Peralta, Santana, Torres, World Series/Kelly/Drew
I saw 11 rack packs at Kmart today at lunch and I couldn't resist them. They called my name and insulted me by thinking I wasn't going to buy them but I fooled them alright
Was at a local Five Below today and picked up a box that had twelve packs in it...first time I ever saw such a small box....anyways opened it when I got home and found nothing worth reporting here on....

For a bunch of jumbos Mick65, I think it was a winner. Definitely made your money back. You were shorted 1 NAP, 2-3 SPs & got an extra Draft & news flashbacks. I suppose the hits you got substituted for the SPs.
BTW, does anyone really want a hot iron transfer at 1:20,000 odds? It does draw me back though. We were so poor growing up, my mom would hot iron patch our clothes when they got holes…and they were usually hand me downs from some other kid. I remember pulling some topps baseball hot iron transfers and some topps baseball patches one year, and had my mom use those to patch my clothes, so people would think I just decorated them like that. I was pretty proud of them too, and used to hit the boardwalk like that…anyway, I really don't want to pull one.
Out of all the obscure stuff inserted the iron transfers don't have a lot of appeal for me.
I think when I grabbed the jumbos, I bought everything they had at the time. I opened a quite a few of them that didn't have much in them. I believe if I only picked up a few, I would have a knack for leaving the "hits" on the rack.
Side note: not sure if the bazooka are replicating the size of the older issue, but they are a small odd size, I guess I was thinking they were bigger.
I had 2 hot box blasters with a purple chrome in each pack. That was in the 1st bunch. These last 12 were the worst group that I've ever opened, 2 relics (Braun, Terehan), 12 total Target red border, 2 chrome, 2 refractors and a bunch of regular SPs but that's it. Not one purple in the whole bunch.

threw out box yesterday after opening packs....it was a smaller box with twelve packs in it. It had been opened by the store and was sitting on the shelve so don't know if there was anything else in the box. There is another Five Below near me so I may take another trip today tosee if I can get another box....
Ok, the longoria pennant is different. Big whoops. But is a lot of the set made up of these insignificant differences? Because i dont want to spend time and money chasing these 2 card differences
Depends on what you want kind of set you want to put together. You could put together a complete regular set (1-425, SPs 426-500), a complete set with the inserts (NAP, T&N, etc...) or go more difficult with the chromes, errors, throwbacks, action variations, etc... I don't chase the chrome sets or the more difficult parallels, my pay grade doesn't allow me.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
There are about 2 dozen of these "logo" variations among others. They are seeded 1:135 packs. I wouldn't try hunting them down through packs, or you will spend a lot of money.
Good point, Rich, on the codes. Need to find my magnifying glass.
Sure thing! They sure do make them small enough, don't they? Don't need to be trading away a tough to pull variation when you think it is just a regular set card! Now...off to find some more blasters today. Hope the cardboard god has something good for me today.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
Anybody know if the purple cards are in just hobby or just retail, or in both? I opened 6 hobby boxes, 2 blasters and a bunch of hangers, and never saw one...
Thanks for the info. Last year I think I bought only 8 blasters and 3 of them were "hot" with a purple per pack. Just picked up 2 Walmart blasters, nothing of note in them except the usual.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
Last year I did get purples out of a blaster box. Have not opened any retail yet this year
Plano, Tx. Card Show #5, Sunday March 6, 2016 at Adat Chaverim (Northeast Corner Independence and Spring Creek) in Plano Tx 9Am to 4 PM. See you there!
Went to one of my local Target's today with the intent of cleaning out their Heritage blasters. They had five on the shelf. The shrink wrap felt funny and was not overly snug as on the other Heritage blasters I've bought this year. Got a real bad vibe about the boxes and moved on...
<< <i>Someone on this board said they got purple refractors in a blaster. I questioned it to myself but didn't say anything.

<< <i>Purples are hobby exclusives. And they are only in one box per case. That one magic box will have a purple in every pack. >>

If these are the Purples, I pulled all from 1 Wal-Mart Blaster. The scanner light is making the borders look multicolored but they are a consistent purple color throughout.
It was me that pulled purples from blasters. They were all from Target and usually they are a "hot box" with one in each pack. I've had them from 3 different Targets in 2 different states so it isn't a fluke or just one order. I've also cracked a "hot" hobby box with one in each pack.
By the way, if anyone has base cards they want to dump, please send me a pm...i will pay shipping as well. I am looking for thousands and thousands of base cards....so no lot is too big.
Bought my second blaster of the year. First one was from Walmart. Decided to go with Target this time. Here's the results:
Base -- 63 cards (no Trout which is the only base card I care about)
Inserts -- 3 cards (The Rolling Stones FB, Frank Robinson FB, Stanton NAP)
SPs -- 2 cards (429 Gray, 460 Hamilton)
Chrome -- 468 Carlos Santana 480/999
Clubhouse Collection -- CCR-JS Jean Segura
Red SP -- 433 Derek Jeter
I did much better with this one than I did last one. Only 2 regular SPs but the Jeter red and Clubhouse Collection more than make up for that omission. I think I will do another one in the coming week. Stay tuned.
Just bought 3 blasters from a stacked Target (about 30 blasters on the shelf) that I made a ride to about 40 miles away. Didn't pull anything of note except a Posey CC jersey card. Starting to pull some of the same SPs so its time to start a trade list tonight.

Just a question. Was the TOPPS logo imprinted on the ones with the loose shrink wrap?

It had the Topps logo printed on it. But there was more than one hem mark if that makes sense. I had bought boxes from that Target only a week earlier and the shrink wrap didn't look or feel like the ones I passed on. On a side note, anyone else finding the card quality bad? I started collating last night and found roughly two cards in every pack had deep imprints on them, including a chrome and a mini. It's almost as if they pressed the rollers too hard when sealing the packs in the factory.
Anybody know how many purple refractors don't have refractor printed on back? I have a glodschmidt that looks like a refractor but not stated on back. Thanks
I went through my set of purple refractors and found 49, 243, and 354 without the word "refractor" on them. All three are the only "Rookie Stars" cards in the set. I only have 49 and 243 regular refractors, and they do not have the word "refractor" on them either. My Goldschmidt purple has "refractor" on it.

Thirteen (13) jumbo packs from Wal-Mart. Ended up with a lot of base cards.

First Gold Relic (01/99) and first Bazooka:

order, noticed that a few do not have the word " refractor" on the back of the card. Keep in mind that I do not
have a complete purple set. Nos. that I have with no refractor are 49, 243,354, & 457. The only one of these
I have in a chrome refractor is # 49. The chrome refractor does not have the word refractor either. Went back

interesting. I would assume they are all the same. Craig in Ohio
