Decision to Reholder and TrueView - Please post some of your favorite TrueViews

I decided to reholder and TrueView some of my favorite coins in PCGS holders. Most of these coins were purchased due to eye appeal. Nothing incredibly rare, just coins that I found attractive. I thought it would be nice to share a few....

I really liked the toning and the large die crack on this one:

image

Same with this one only with a smaller die crack:

Really liked the coloring on this one:

And this one:

This coin has great eye appeal and is outstanding in hand:

As is this one:

All the best,

Rob

My 1912 MPL that is just perfect picture to coin, and my 1911 MPL that is far from true to life.

If I remember correctly that Oregon Trail coin was at a dinner a couple years ago that Angel Dee's organized in Santa Clara. It was truly incredible in hand.

I had a box of 20 toned Canadian proof Dollars reholdered and TrueViewed at Long Beach under their $5 reholder special. Here are a few of my favorites:

Sorry, not the same Oregon. I got this one from the Stack's auction in Sept. 2011.

I'm glad everyone is pleased with their TrueViews. As I say your feedback through this forum has refined and improved the product over the years.

Starting today there's an additional option on the standard TrueView page. Takes a while to download, but some of you may find it handy if you prefer the white background or making your own.

Love that pattern 50 cent piece. I'd like to see current ASE and AGE designs shelved
and see the old patterns brought back for bullion pieces. Use a new design every 2-3
years. The Amazonian and Schoolgirl would do for starters.

Here's my favorite TrueView: a very rare, attractive 1840-D quarter eagle, with perfect dies. Most examples are ugly, with severely cracked dies. The coloration is unusual for a Dahlonega piece, but this is how the coin looked in 1994, when it was released from over 50 years of storage in a safe deposit box. It was auctioned (uncertified -- as were the other coins in the sale) in 1994 by Stack's, in the James A. Stack collection (no relation), bringing over twice the catalog value. It was purchased by a well-known Atlanta coin firm and became part of the North Georgia collection of Dahlonega and Charlotte gold coins. Although I missed out on the coin in 1994, I was on the look-out for it in subsequent years. I finally captured it in 2008 (at the Baltimore ANA), from Doug Winter.

In addition to the Transparent .PNG file, we've also now included the CoinFacts style white background .JPG for download on the TrueView page.

This is awesome, I set up a True View folder library and sub folders for each coin with all the different pictures (sizes and types) for easy access.

Now I just have to make sure I back it up!!!

    Thanks again for this serviceimage

This thread is also helpful because we're going to update the PCGS TrueView information page soon. I need to prepare a portfolio of examples to display, and I need to select a wide range of coins. Hey maybe some testimonial quotes as well.
