Bags Bags Wonderful Bags - shipped today !

Ive seen reports on various coin forums that the US Mint WILL not ship any free bags by themselves. Well I see from my order
history that 2 bags from my 2 HOF Baseball orders have shipped today. The Coins are expected to ship around 4-15-14 , yeah I'll
believe it when I see it. No Gold comming, just BU Halves and $1's.

Way to go Mint. I'll certainly treasure those bags. image

Anyone else getting bags sent their way? How many are there? Anyone got plans to sell big lots of bags?

Those bags are actually pretty useful. Most cities around where I am have banned single use plastic bags and charge for paper bags. They're perfect for small time grocery shopping.

I think maybe the next time I pass through DC I'll give any bags I may have to any bag ladies I may see. Of course I'll have a few
$1 bills in them. I'll call them money bags. Hopefully the ladies will be proud of their money bags and will carry them proudly.
If enough Mint Customers would do the same thing, soon the streets would be filled with money bags , proudly carried by bag
    ladies.

Imagine what any Mint Officials might think when they saw their bags all over the streets of DC?

Just an idea. What else am I going to do with these cursed bags? image

Yes the shipping charge of $4.95 covers all items in your order no matter how many separate shipments the Mint makes
to get all your items to you.

I see now after my bags have shipped that the cancel box has appeared next to my coins. OK cool, I CAN cancel the Coins
after all. BUT I'm out $4.95 for the crummy bag if I do cancel the Coins.

    A true scammy ripoff.

On a serious note I don't like the bags. They advertise to the world your a coin collector and invites thieves to burgle your home.

Well I've finally decided I want out of this free bag / forced coin game. I just canceled the Coins associated with my 2 orders but
not before the ultra efficient Mint contractor sent me the 2 "free" bags at $4.95 each.

I think Im going to keep the bags sealed and unopened. I've seen the bags I don't need to see any more.

Thank you, US Mint for selling me 2 free bags for $4.95 each. It's something I will never forget. imageimage

    Amazing….

Been watching my order that is "in stock and ready to ship"….processing….C/C fully charged…and finally
it's marked as shipped with a tracking number…

    For THE BAG image

    That's it….no coins...just the bag….

This is just a delay tactic while they ship thousands of coins to their big dealer customers.

Good idea.. I have the same problem. No more plastic bags, paper bags now cost a dime. I'm fine with it, though, if it means less pollution.

Currently I'm shocked by a couple emails I received from the
USMint. It seems that they are going to credit me with the
2 - $4.95 shipping charges they got me for the 2 "free" bags.

This is really good of them. Maybe they're some OK blokes
    after all?

    I'm weeping tears of joy.

Same for me. We will see if it really is just the bag. As I still live in the free part of the country, I don't need to use it for shopping, so it will probably get thrown in the closet.

But think about all the pollution those UPS trucks are generating as they are driving all over the place delivering a box with a bag. Think about all those paper boxes that go in the trash. Not very 'green' at all.

I usually ask for double plastic bags to make up for those who don't use them.

I do have one of those reusable bags, it is in my cupboard full of plastic bags.

    Horrors ! image

Are you sure ? The free bag isn't added until you've checked out. You might want to check your order history page
and pull up the order to see if it's been added in. If you don't want hassles , cancel the bag.

Maybe the Mint has realized this is turning into a PR nightmare?

Maybe they will sell the rest at 12 / $5.99 with $4.95 shipping ?

Damn, now they show the bag on the order. Already have 3 on the way. The Mint is Mas Loco as they say south of the border.

My 2 bags in 2 separate packages will get to me Saturday. I did manage to cancel the HOF Coins originally ordered so
I will get nothing but the bags. I know I know, there's a boatload of " you sucks' , comming my way.

To top off my good fortune the Mint is crediting the 2 shipping charges back to me. Looks like I'm tasting a bit o the
Saddle Ridge type of luck , eh?

I'm getting 2 free bags , shipped free ! No Coins to slow me down. I think I'll buy some Lottery Tickets - you never know
how long this lucky streak is going to go on.

Of course I will leave these priceless USMint artifacts sealed and unopened. Wonder if anyone would slab them for me?

Many should feel lucky they had bags in stock or else they would have held up coins being shipped for 5 months while more bags are made in Taiwan. They held up the UHR coins for the books.image

Just got off the phone with a Mint CSR, and he said they have 100,000 bags to ship.
They have been providing these bags since Feb. 20th and they are shipped to customers spending $75 or more.

Well my 2 free reusable US Mint bags are at the Post Office - been there since Saturday. Strangely I dont even feel
    up to getting them.

There is also a $250 Box of 2014 Native American $1's . Don't feel up to getting those either.

Vietnam Coins - excellent idea. My Dad was in Ben Hoi in 1966. He brought back some Coins and some Notes maybe
    even an MPC or two.

Some Dong would go well with that Pristine US Mint bag.
