Any thread that can show actual pics of the cache site will be the ulimate Saddle Ridge thread.
But beware of a multitude of fake Saddle Ridge pics.
Maybe after cashing out , maybe Mary and Jonny will move to another location. In time maybe
the real Saddle Ridge will be revealed.
Every buyer should get a limited-edition leather-bound book encompassing The Find as part of the Amazon package. Contained inside an embossed real leather album/case. Lots of pictures of high bangers, romance of Mint history from Gold Rush days, and its wide-ranging overall economic impact as a promoter of commerce. Conquistadors. Caballeros. Continental Railroad. Artichokes. Cannery Row. Beef and Chicago.
How exciting the coins are as artifacts. A picture of every date!!!!!! .
But the Illuminnati are still out there. . . .

How distinctive of a landmark would a "saddle ridge" be? Maybe something like camel ridge would have been less revealing.

Can anyone venture a learned opinion as to why these coins are being sold on Amazon?

The estimated value is $10 million. 1427 coins would yield an average estimated value per coin of $7,007. If 100 of the coins was responsible for $8 million of the value that would leave 1327 coins worth $2 million or $1507 apiece. I doubt too many Heritage bidders are going to pay stupid money for coins like that. So many of the coins have no more worth than a newly minted gold Buffalo or AGE. You can take those and put them up at Amazon for your price. I expect the heavy hitters will be sold privately or at an auction commensurate with their grade/value.

<< <i>Artichokes? >>
From Salinas County south of SF, factory farms shipped crops for export due solely to the existence and efficiency of the railroads. The Huntingtons perhaps?
If you didn't like artichokes, they had beans and garlic; they all shipped well.

Free shipping on orders over $35 is a powerful incentive not to be trifled with

The Hoard has tremendous publicity and that publicity can be leveraged more effectively in a retail format instead of a liquidation format such as an auction. The coins can be listed on Amazon for retail prices that may extend for months or years. An absolute auction will liquidate the Hoard in less than 24 hours, but at significantly less $$ than if sold over a greater period of time.
But I do think that Neiman Marcus might have been able to sell them for more than Amazon........

Actually, I already have that book. It is the tome that Q. David Bowers came out with not too many years ago. Just needs an appendix to add the Saddle Ridge examples.
