1963 P Nickel FS? beautiful find

This Nic is not from a proof set, it is a standard 1963 Philly mint set. Sorry about the pics, its what i have for now at my parents place in Az.jhec

Maybe my brain is fuzzy but it came from a Philly cello not from a set marked proof set.

Looks like a winner to me, the only issue I can see is that once you took it out of the mint cello you may have a difficult time convincing a tpg that it is not a proof.

If you pulled it from a package like the one posted then that is a proof set.

To the best of my knowledge mint sets look like the one below

so that listing is for philly, san fran, denver, etc with no price difference between the mints? I thought that was for the san fran shinny proof sets.

Proof sets dated 1964 and earlier were all made in Philadelphia with no mint marks.

Proof sets dated 1968 and later were all made in San Francisco with "S" mint marks.

Modern proof commemorative and bullion coins are made at various mints with various mint marks.

please don't take my comment the wrong way, but if you are having trouble distinguishing things like this you should probably slow down with purchases and spend more time on educating yourself. absent that you'll undoubtedly make mistakes which may end up costing you money as the scammers reel you in.

Mint sets have either a blue(Philly) or red(Denver) stripe along the edge of the cello.

Proof sets/ sms sets are clear cello.
