How big a deal is the pcgs set registry hall of fame?

Is it basically just a certificate to stick in a drawer and forget about, or is it a big deal that puts one in the top echelon of coin collectors?

I think it is the ultimate goal for your set.

Now having said that, I did get the 2 certificates I was given and framed them for wall decoration because I doubt I will ever be able to get another again.

That is a generic statement that is many more times false than it is true. While there ARE sets out there equal to or better than what is in the Set Registry, I cannot imagine hundreds let alone thousands for all the sets combined - let alone a single category. And there are very few better sets than those in the Hall of Fame.

Other than that, as mentioned, there could "possibly" be much better sets pout there but then, we all know, they;d have to pass the PCGS test first.
