Thank you - I knew I was reading it correct. I know when it sounds too good to be true, it probably is - except in this case. I believe this is a neat deal PCGS is offering. I have a 1960 [type B not on the insert] in an NGC MS67 holder, I would love to cross for my type B quarter set. The one and only time I have been to the LB show was 2001. Maybe next year
<< <i>The show special is that you have to pay the fee and 1% only if your coin crosses to PCGS. The free part is getting your coin back in the NGC holder just as it was when you submitted it.
I think they have to be submitted at the Long Beach show. >>

looks like about 4K+ crossovers got entered at Long Beach as the yearly and 30 day numbers increased by that amount on the statistics page. That is a significant amount and will affect this quarters bottom line in a very positive way
30 day success rates dropped to 31% so it seems a higher than average amount was rejected
At the Long Beach Show, the special was that you could try coins for crossover at the show (under the show grading tiers) and if they didn't cross you didn't have to pay the show grading fees on those coins. They were not taking coins under the regular or economy tiers under the special for grading back at the PCGS offices.
From the link posted, it now seems the crossover special may have been extended to all tiers... if so, that is great as I'm sure many more coins can now be tried for crossover "risk-free" but it's also a bummer they wouldn't just take my coins at the Long Beach show a couple of weeks ago!!!!!

I totally agree with you, I was there Sat AM second person in line at the PCGS table to drop off my crossovers. I was told that they had stopped accepting the crossovers on Fri, really after a seven hour drive I was turned away. I even told them that I was fine with paying return shipping if I would just be allowed to submit the coins but no dice. I'd really like to add something else to this but I dont feel like being bamed.
I replied to their FaceBook posting regarding this today and PCGS replied that it was for show only at Long Beach, but due to the popularity of the special they have not extended the crossover special to include submissions to their offices... Pretty cool and I'm sure I'll try to cross a few of my coins now... would have been nicer to just handle this at Long Beach, but at least they came around to offer the deal for all submission levels.

Someone screwed up the announcement, I guess.
I like the special. Great idea. Wouldn't be a bad permanent policy.
