Surprised at the game - Seattle dominated - which I did not see coming.

  • I'm colorblind so I hope this at least close to the right colors. Great game! I've been a Seahawks fan from back in the days of the Tacoma Dome with Jim Zorn and Steve Largent so to me, this win was LONG OVERDUE!

Not a surprise to me. Told family and friends that I thought either NFC team (Seattle/San Fran) could have beaten Denver because of their defenses.

They forgot to give kudos to their real MVP...Adderall. Good thing their airline didn't lose their PED's the way they did when they headed to Indianapolis and SF.

You can't blame all of America for jumping on the Peyton love fest though. When a team is able to pad their offensive stats by playing in a conference with no coherent defense they're bound to turn heads. They finally face a real defensive powerhouse and lo and behold.

And it gets even better...it's happy anniversary for the lucky guy who's been a Seahawks fan for 8 whole years! That makes him the longest tenured fan in the 12th Man brethren. Average tenure of the typical 12th Man? About 15 months.

And congrats on their #QuestForOne. Only four more to go.

Actually Monsterman is good friends with Archie Manning. He's known Peyton and Eli since they were kids.

I've heard that type of thinking a lot tonight... people wanted a close game.
Well, I disagree. I think it was a great game because the Seahawks worked hard and played harder. Aside from the 2pt debacle to start the game, they weren't GIVEN anything!
They pushed and pushed to get their scores and interceptions. They played exceptionally good football.

They were rated the best Defense in the whole league..... that's going to mean a lot. The team was pretty healthy, for once, going into a game.

It wasn't a bad super bowl game, it was excellent. Yes, I am a Seahawks fan, so that may well color things differently than for a broncos fan, but at the end of the day, watching the entire game, the Seahawks played hard, the broncos did NOT play poorly. They were just outmatched.... as ANY of the teams in the league would have been against Seattle today!

You do know that is in the past, right? Celebrating the past is fine and dandy, but nothing compares to the present image
Just like the SF folks that paid for a sign/billboard in Seattle (well, 20 miles south since they didn't want to pay the actual cost to do it in Seattle image ). Putting up the whole "we have 5 rings, where are yours? " type of thing.....
I drove by it and laughed at the stupidity of the statement...... heck, who cares! Look at all the rings for the Cowboys. No one cared this year. Look at all of them for the Lakers and Celtics. It means NOTHING to the current season. It is great to celebrate that as a fan, but to compare it to the present is just sad.

That said.....I WANT that 1879 OR IHC! I like it!

Best game I have ever been to on the road. I have to say the game with the Beast Quake run at home was better. Or the defeat of the Broncos back in 1984 - my first playoff game. I've been a 12th man since day one!

49ers were clearly the 2nd best team in the NFL this year.

...nothing like a good old fashioned whooping! Denver should feel lucky that Seattle isn't still in the AFC West...cause they wouldn't have even won their division and probably wouldn't have even made the playoffs. Defense does indeed win Championships, good riddance Denver broncos image

I'm a Raiders fan and I sadly know first hand what a lashing in the Super Bowl like tonight will do to a franchise...it's devastating to say the least!

    Congrats Seattle!

From the viewpoint of a Bronco fan, I thought the result would have been the other way around. So, of course I am disappointed. The Seahawks won this game decisively and deserve all credit due. The Seahawks defense was superb and was the decisive element to their win. The Seahawks defensive talent is outstanding and was assembled while the other teams in the league focused their attention, and their budgets, on offensive talent, a strategic win for the Seahawks management.

Peyton Manning will end up being the big loser in this game, with a mediocre performance following a record setting year. He lost more than this game, he lost his opportunity to be known in history as the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. He was so close, but lost by too much.

...in all fairness to "the greatest quarterback in the game" comments....all I have to say is Joe Montana won 4 superbowls and NEVER threw one single interception in The Big Game...NOT ONE...enough said image

...and again, for the record...I'm a Raiders Fan.

Even though I technically live in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle hasn't really ever been my team. Kudos to them for playing to their strengths perfectly. It was a worthless game though. By the end of the first quarter it was pretty obvious that the teams weren't matching up well. Even a great quarterback looks bad when the defense shuts down everything.

I'm a 'Niners fan. While I would have preferred the 'Niners to have been in the SB, I was rooting for Seattle. I'm not one of those spoiled children that if they can't get what they want they pout. I like the 'Hawks too. I'm glad that the 'Niners proved that they were within seconds of winning their game IN SEATTLE. It was just one of those crazy bounces that the ball does sometimes. Clearly they were the only team that could hang with Seattle this year. It'll be fun to watch the Niners/Seahawks games the next couple of years... Seattle won't always get the bounces in the playoffs.

Well, let's see, the 'Hawks had the # 1 rated defense, the Panthers had the # 2 rated defense, and the 'Niners had the # 3 rated defense in the NFL this year... gee, I wonder why Manning got so many points this year... could it possibly be that the AFC has some less than stellar defenses?... but that would mean, gosh, maybe he's not the greatest ever. Manning is a Great quarterback, just not in the top 10 Greatest ever.

Posting coins of color is one angle, but more on topic to the Game itself would be postings of the coins lost and/or won as a result of the Seahawks unexpected blowout victory over the Broncos. Not a gambler, but with such an unexpected result with such a large point differential have to assume there must be some huge winners and huge losers.

A good lesson to be learned here, that a great defense can incapacitate a great offense.

First championship in any pro sport that I have seen from my favorite professional sports teams.

Sonics won theirs the year before I was born (and then moved).

So this was pretty special for me. Throw in the fact it was a blowout and all the better, then you can just sit back, relax and watch with a smile.

I was living in Salt Lake when the Seahawks went in 2005. Watched the game with a friends family. They were Morman and Steelers fans. I was the only one with beer and the only Seahawks fan.

A lot of good/great players can look pretty pedestrian against a good defense.
