US Coin Forum or match.com on Saturday night.......

Having been divorced for over 30 years now, I find myself at 67 years old to be very grateful at finding this forum. Although I have been collecting coins for well over 50 years, I have spent my Saturday nights chasing women and more lately, thanks to the internet, trying to find a few gem BU women on match.com. Thirty years ago, the women available were MS65+. Now they are VG at best or mostly .91 details ( Questionable Color / Aletered Surfaces / etc.)

I have recently found that I can acquire very nice PF66+ Indian cents for about the price that it takes just to get to know a .91 woman. Perhaps it might be fun on a Saturday night to post a pic of the best coin that you have recently acquired and the best woman you have dated recently (if single). You can attest to the grade of the coin, and those of us on the forum will rate your woman on the 0-70 scale, with pristine models deserving of proof and cameo designation.

Any players???

Stick to coins online... As your return rate even if the photographs are majorly juiced will be far less then internet dating! imageimage

Women are not like coins. 30 more years of age removes a lot of the human luster. Learn to accept "crusty."

If you want to talk about women just remember in the numismatic community every day is Oktoberfest. Remember that someone the numismatic community would grade MS68 would only grade at best MS62 to the rest of the world. Deprivation can cause the deterioration of standards. Don't believe me? • Not to sure that would be a good thread for my boys to read. They would find it funny but my wife would be mad and when she gets mad it is MS70++++ to PR1 very quickly.

Gold is always the standard. I'm just a copper guy that is trying to avoid the women that covet gold........

Derry, you are so right.......if only you substitute very nicely toned for crusty. Crusty is never good with coins.

    Soooo, lostincoins,

This thread was not targeted at a happily married man. Just make sure you take as many pictures of your wife as you do of your coins. Coin pics don't pay particularily good dividends, relatively speaking.

And just why are youo not having a date night tonight???

    Broadstruck,

I have found all women's photos online are juiced. Same for coins on line. You just have to see them "in hand"..

OINK may not be the best sigline on a dating site.....
  • OldIndianNutKaseOldIndianNutKase Posts: 2,715 ✭✭✭✭✭
OINK on a dating site really does not make sense, I agree. Nor does my Porsche Turbo-S. The pics of the Porsche never receive a comment, nor does the 30 inch trout that I caught. I am probably considered a bad catch........

I live in my own little world looking at proof indians that are PF66+, and driving very fast (on the track). Probably will never complete the set at that level, but the Porsche and the coins are not subject to terms of engagement.......

  • Because it is just now 11:30pm my time and my wife is just getting home from work and she started at 8:30am today. Get rid of the Porsche and get the coins as those cars for the most part are played out... Get a 2014 Nissan GTR you would be much happier with that also.

    I appreciate you input, John,

Your wife sounds like Gem Proof. The Porsche is a 2005 (996) which is a well "toned" version which was already significantly depreciated for it's toned state when I bought it. I know that I can sell it for much more no....after altering it with bigger turbos, Fabspeed exhaust, intakes, GIAC tune, etc. to get to about 800 HP. Fun part about cars is that you can mess with them. It's a good protective anode for my coin collection. I think your numismatic photgraphy is very nice.

  • I grew up in Az. and started working on cars when I was 12yo. My first car at age 16 was a 1972 Chevelle, that was a fun car. I have been a fan of the Skyline for a long time. I don't know any production car that can match the performance of a GTR at the GTRs price point. The 996 is a nice car but I am sure to get it to 800hp it cost a good sum of money. Check out this link you will like it.

    Soooo CJ,

Chasing women and coins might also qualify one a bi-sexual???? Thank you. As may be everyone else that has responded to this post.

I think that you are right.....but I didn't know until you brought it to my attention.

Maybe I should have referenced bi-sexuality in the post to get greater participation???

    Hi John,

Loved the video. No question that the GTR is the best performance for the money. It's just that it looks way toooo much like a sleeper. I have seen VW's with nitrous that would beat it. But, I could have jacked the Porsche to 1200 HP with even bigger turbos, Ti connecting rods, intercoolers, and still be a fraction of the cost of a Ferrari 458. But the power gets scary. And Paul Walker losing it all with a professional driver in a Carrera GT gives one pause.......

I have thought of selling it to buy some interesting coins at recent auctions. I could have picked up a 1895 PF morgan and a 1864-L PF indian with the proceeds and my father would be smiling from heaven. But I can play with the Porsche engine without commmiting a sacriledge. Cars or coins is like fast or forever.......

    I think we need both.

A Saturday night used to be Match.com and spending money on Ebay. Match led to marriage, and the end of my spending money on Ebay. So now, it is message boards to look/learn instead of buying.

Why? In either case one is likely to come across something well circulated.
