TIA!

Quite a number of the Wisconsin CWTs that were made from John Marr (A very talented Milwaukee, Wisconsin die sinker) dies seem to come with planchet clips. From what I've seen the effect on the price is usually neutral, at least for pieces that are not graded Gem Unc. MS-65. For those tokens it might be a negative since collectors who want those pieces often expect perfection.

I suppose if you found with a really big clip that took a lot of the design, it would be of interest to the CWT error collectors. Since I don't fall into that group, I would view it as a negative.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

ill second bill, unless its a very high grade, of a really scarce token, those of us that collect them don't mind a clip, but wont pay a premium because they aren't anywhere near as scarce as clipped "regular issue" coins
regardless of how many posts I have, I don't consider myself an "expert" at anything

Coming at this from an error collector's perspecitve, I love clipped CWTs but they are quite common, so I generally try not to pay a premium for the error unless it is a certain design or type I desire (such as an Indiana primitive). The same goes for repunching, there are so many die errors on CWTs (that I also love to collect) that there's no reason to pay a big premium for them.

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.
