I`ll jump ahead some eight and a half hrs. arriving on United in Denver in the middle of a blowing snow storm after my hotel wake up call at 2am... Lets just say won`t bother with the boring details prior to that wake up call...
Actually I am trying to block that part out of my brain as I am going to have to do it in reverse in a couple of days after visiting with family...
So i`m in Denver and my next flight to Houston is delayed 4 hrs. due to the bad weather... Get into Houston and as expected missed my connecting flight to Lafayette... Was able to get the airlines last flight of the evening to Lafayette and was greeted by Brandon Kelley. Actually the airline did very well after considering what the weather was all over the country that day... From there we had about a 1 hr. drive to his home in southern Louisiana... I had been planning this trip so that I could meet Brandon`s family and to take in the awesome southern hospitality and see that part of the world... My wife says i`m crazy but I enjoy that sort of thing (adventures)...
Slept half the next day away
then Brandon took me around... That area reminds me very much of the prairie areas in our neck of the woods... Very flat and straight roads... We stopped into a convenience store and picked up something called Boodan...
I am probably spelling it wrong and I know I had one heck of a time pronouncing it
as the n is said part way...
It`s only available in that area and it`s main ingredients I believe are chicken, liver and rice in a sausage casing... I personally am not a fan of liver but this stuff was like candy as we drove around picking at it... Very yummy! I enjoyed the day very much and saw many things of interest and that way of life...
I could tell that they have close family ties and "they aaaall" love living there... Was awesome Brandon!
Next day we started our 13 hr. trip over and down to Orlando... As it was breaking daylight we were just going through a huge swamp refuge on a series of bridges... The leaves were gone from the big trees with the Spanish Moss hanging it looked so cool... Time went by so quickly and before we knew it we were crossing the Mississippi... A short crossing of the blip of southern Alabama and we were in the Florida panhandle... Once in Florida the drive slowed down as that is one big State but we ended up playing a name game for hours and I believe we set a record time spent playing it...
Get to Orlando a day prior to my reservation at the hotel and Big Moose offered the other bed in his room to me and Brandon had his own arrangement... One thing I had no problem with was sleeping like a baby...
Next (Tuesday) went over to the Convention Center for registration and everything was in order and zip zoop was all done... Turned around and Laura from Legend was there... Was nice to see her again and she introduced me to Jose... I have dealt with Jose on numerous occasions... He is right on top of stuff and has a great eye and was nice to finally meet...
Next onto Heritages lot viewing and I spent the rest of that day and part of Wed. checking out lots... It`s a great learning experience viewing all kinds of series and killer coins!
Was getting ready to go into the bourse as it opened to the early birds and a killer toned Morgan that I had remembered seeing pics of in coin archives back in 2007 just walked up to me...
I recognized the coin immediately and the price was right so that was that...
In my pocket!
The bourse was already busy and I took care of some business with PCGS... Was nice seeing Don and staff and man o man did they ever get slammed the next few days... Incredible that they are able to see to their promises and get all those coins back... Real pros!
I was there all week right to very end on Saturday... Saw lots of great coins, made some new friends on and off the forum and ate every evening like no tomorrow...
A few of my highlights, were coming across 3 more great Morgans... One was from a private collection and he has become a great friend of mine after meeting him for the first time at the 2012 FUN... He knows I love the toned Morgans and does me a great favor... When I have ever viewed coins of different denominations in his collection he ONLY collects the very best and his eye for quality is amazing... Then I ran into a dealer that I have done business with before and he had a Morgan set aside for me that is one of the most spectacular toned Morgans I have ever seen... And I have seen alot of toned Morgans... We came to a deal and with the two other Morgans I went over to PCGS for re-grades and trueviews... Phil Arnold the photographer for PCGS did a wonderful job although the Textile Godzilla one I understand was a bit of a challenge... Great job Phil and thank you very much! There was another Morgan a reverse toner which came to me as well which I will write about and show pics once I have them at a later time...
Of the 5 submissions to PCGS 2 coins a proof Indian Cent and a Morgan crossed at the same NGC grades which I wrote a thread about earlier in the week. And my 3 Morgan regrades went/ 1 went from a MS64 to MS65 and the other two both got +`s... Awesome trueviews as well...
Also want to thank all my buddies for the good times at the dinners every night all week...
Anyway back visiting my two grandsons and being lazy before going back to the grind and hope everyone enjoys the story and pics...

Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.

"Look up, old boy, and see what you get." -William Bonney.
That textile toner is crazy gummy bear cool.
And the 67+ looks tantalizingly close to a 68...I really just see a very small, shallow mark on the cheek where the green-turquoise transitions to violet, and a mark next to the eagle's wing...but I've certainly seen many worse looking 68s.
Always love seeing the coins you post!

Thanks slammer! For a full res max shot they are all now in Coinfacts... For those that dig closeup exploring it can be a blast...
Thank you as well Richie! Was great meeting you at lot viewing...

<< <i>When I scrolled down through those 3 Morgans I just said one word. It's a four letter word and it begins with an F. I do believe it can be used as a noun, a verb or an adjective. In this case I think it was all three.
More thanks to the evening crowd!
Thanks Elmer as you know each one of those zits adds character...
