Take them out of that holder, put them in your pocket for 20 years then wrap them in a TB napkin for 120 years and they will look fine or possibly extra fine by that time.
. as tough as it is to see, i'm not saying this is the case here but i have seen coins that were so dark and/or so corroded that they may be slightly better off like this?
at least they have a chance of being some hue of brown one day, perhaps?
although with this group it appears as if they were harshly striated instead of tumbled or strongly dipped which somewhat negates the previous statement. .

Every single the coin in the collection? The odds are incredibly against this likelihood. I could see that possibly being true of one or two coins, but not the whole shooting match.
No, more likely a non-coin-collector thinking they need to "clean them up and make them shiny" prior to sale. I picture a kindly old grandma working away with a toothbrush and toothpaste... wreaking havoc and destruction as she quietly hums to herself.

not arguing it is the case here but the people to which i refer do this type of thing in bulk only. .
That reminds me of a large cent set I bought out of a small town antique auction a couple years ago. It was a complete date set, 1793-1857, with a Wreath Cent, 1799, 1804…everything. Several were very sharp coins, but all were highly polished before being mounted. When I got around to removing all the coins from the frame, I learned that the polishing was not the only problem. Although it looked like it was just the 3 pegs around each coin that were holding the coins in place, the framer went the extra step of taping the back of each coin to the board as well. So now I had a complete date set of large cents, all with highly polished, bright orange obverses and corroded, tape stained reverses. That was a bummer, but at least the fractional currency was nice!
It's common with this seller to sale Harshly Cleaned coins. Especially the tougher Morgan's and Cents. I will say that they are very nice people and will do everything they can to correct a problem and then some.. when i 1St started collecting last year and didn't know the difference in Surfaces I sent back a 1878cc after I submitted it for TPG and they paid me back for the fees. P.S. The owner wanted me to keep him updated on the submission because he felt as if it would grade 64 or 65 but in fact came back Improperly Cleaned..

I think there is a spelling error
Rainbow Stars
The seller says "It appears as though the coins may have been lightly cleaned."
Ya think?
