New Error Purchase - I really like laminations

Fred has said that laminations are best suited for Ebay and that is where I found this one. It is from David Lawrence and I think it has really nice eye appeal and in hand it impresses me just as much as the picture did. The photos provided are from the DL auction.
Laminations are fascinating to me - enjoy!

I'm sure it still wasn't cheap coming from DLRC!
But I have not seen a seated dollar with such a big lamination so that is why I decided to go for it. I think, error-wise I am ok with the amount but I know that it will not appeal to a larger audience so in that respect I probably over paid.
Here's my only lamination error 1901-O $10.

An underweight coin. Sorry, we can only pay well back of melt for defective items.
Seriously, you don't see much error gold. I don't recall seeing a lamination like that. Looks like some flaking also in the field. Are there any obvious impurities that might have caused it or just a bad mix with the copper? I do recall seeing an old Proof gold $1 or $2.50 pictured in an auction catalog years ago that had a significant lamination still attached and raised above the surface.
That 1850-O $ is pretty cool, especially with it going right through the mintmark.

An old thread from 2012.
Following up on my previous post mentioning a laminated Proof gold dollar. Recently ran across it while looking at the 1989 Bowers and Merena ANA auction catalog. It sold for $3,410 back then. Wonder if it went into an error collection or a non-error collection. Below is a scan of the lot description:
