Ebay's Done It Again

Looks like Ebay has implemented another stupid elimination. Looks like they removed the toolbar on the word processor where you write the description of the item. You can't change the size of the font, color, style..etc anymore. They also appear to have removed the HTML tab so you may no longer write HTML code into your listing. Anybody else notice it or is it just me??

TIA

Harvey

  • no problems for me it is your account. hold down the right mouse button and highlight the area and it may show up
  • I ran a system restore and went back a few days when Ebay worked fine for me.

    Works properly now....

I've had this problem for almost two months now. Even on items I listed previous to
this and re-list, all the options for "Description" are gone but they were there when I
made the original. I reported it to them and was told they were "working" on it and
would forward my complaint to Tech Services.

Also have problems with my Description. The 'Preview Your Listing' shows everything
I typed there was either one paragraph instead of separated sentences or
was all in HTML code. But when I go to Edit, it shows me exactly the way I wanted
it so can't fix anything. Either way, their system lists the item as I wrote it but
it still messes with me. After 10+ calls and hours of talking, I gave up.

Everything starts and everything stops at precisely the right time for precisely the right reason.
  • I noticed that when I did the system restore, it took me back to Internet Explorer 10.
After I upgraded to IE11 I started having the problem with Ebay and the missing
Description toolbar. You might need to go back to IE10 or do a system restore that will take you back
    before you upgraded to IE11

So ............ maybe you should change the thread title to point to the real culprit since it wasn't eBay? Maybe a Caution before upgrading to IE11?

    Just a thought.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I know eBay needs to have it always so you don't need to do it by hand, but basic HTML is easy that it's easier for me to just do it myself.

Various new webpage coding methods might clutter and complicate your learning off doing a google search. If you or anyone wants to learn most of the old HTML stuff still is recognized and you could go to the library and get a basic HTML book from 10 years ago and that will be complete enough and easy enough for you to do it by hand.

Then, once done by hand, just save it to a file then cut-and-paste into the box. No messing with crappy and sometimes frustrating HTML helpers. Thus you have a template. New coin? Edit the small bits in the file and the formatting is already done.
