Mint bags of State Quarters

Have almost the full run of 25$ P&D Mint sealed bags of State Quarters.
Most still in mint boxes.
Sadly missed the first 3 or maybe 4 of the 99's image
Are any of them still worth anywhere close to the Mint issue price???
Or do I just have 90+ bags of nice Unc . quarters worth 25$ a bag???? image

Thanks , Silver

    and to hurt even more....

mint bags typically have more bag marks than the rolls.
so, nice unc. might be more like unc.

    check ebay for sold prices.

  • Yea--Kinda what I figured! lol
Have been somewhat out of the loop for 3-4 years due to one thing or another.
I made enough off State Quarters when they were" HOT " to more than cover my loss on these I guess.
Knew I should have unloaded years ago but had a "OLD GOAT BRAIN FART" and thought--You might want to keep some back!!
Should know by now not to think so much!! lol

Thanks for the good news guys!!! image

    All may ot be lost.

I think I'd go ahead and take the loss but go through them first looking for Gems, varieties, and errors.

I'd save at east the nicest 3% or so as well as a few of the later dates and anything unusual. You can get
much of your "investment" back and still have a few coins with potential.

There are a few of the state quarters that do have some premium, but not much.

You don't know how many MS 70 lincolns I have thrown back into circulation as I only look for errors and I have gone though thousand of BU Rolls ..... image

I tried sell $1,000 in complete rolls of State Quarters a few years back with absolutely no interest from prospective sellers. Some cam from mint bags while others were OBW.

I ended up taking them to the bank since the program is just plain dead!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    I know the feeling. image

I've been collecting since 1957 and never used to pay any attention to varieties and have put
staggering numbbers of coins into circulation. Even now I don't really look for minor varieties
except in rolls and bags since there will be multiple examples and they'll be Unc.

You might be happy to know I've always set aside errors though. A few of these I keep for ref-
erence and most I trade for something needed.

It is deader than dead but don't lose sight of the fact that it died and was buried even before
it came to an end. This means that some of the later issues might not exist in the quantities
implied by current valuations. It means there will be millions of states sets that aren't complete
to the end. It might mean that those young folks who gave up on their sets will come streaming
back into the hobby over the next ten to fifty years desiring the coins they couldn't afford as young-
sters; Gems, varieties, and errors. A few choice specimens of coins that were overlooked could be
quite a windfall before so very long.

I set aside all the choice coins I found even though there were few. I did latch onto one of my fav-
oriite speculative plays in this which is nice Denver mint WY and have a few rolls of these.

    Time will tell.

I believe none of the major varieties appear in mint rolls. There might be some minor MN varieties though.

I put a group of BU bank wrapped rolls in my eBay store a while back and the best I got were offers that, after fees and shipping, would net less than face value.

    FWIW...

edited to add... half a dozen or so of the 35 rolls had a greysheet bid of $40+ at the time.

The Washington DC double die is probably unique if you can find it.
I think I remember one going a few years back for $1000 double die

Sell out at a loss. Reinvest into the ATB QUARTERS series - these are going to be winners.

Just like those State Quarters were going to be winners.

For the US Mint , anyway. LOL
