eBay Having Server Problems...

I filled out a listing page on Friday to sell a coin starting today for 10 days. Finished
filling in all the pertinent information and submitted it.

Then, as I usually do, I clicked on my listing to check for errors. WOW! My header had the pound
symbol, the and symbol and 034 where there was supposed to be just a ". Scrolling down to the
description, everything I had entered was one super-long paragraph...not at all as I had typed it
out. So I went to "Revise My Listing" only to see it exactly as I wanted it and had typed it!
So there wasn't anything to revise! Also, when viewing several other listings already running, the
description area was nothing but a bunch of html characters mixed in with my actual wording.

Called eBay. Told them of the problem. They said it was my computer in some way, shape or form.
Called my "Remote Tech" service. Told them what was going on. Their analysis was no, your
computer is NOT the problem, it's eBays servers problem. Called eBay back. They then admitted they
were experiencing difficulties with other customers reporting similar issues. Said they were
"working to fix as fast as possible". This was yesterday evening.

Checked my new listing this morning to find still messed up. Called eBay again for a update.
They are still trying to fix it so had to postpone this listing for another 24 hours and will check
the listing again tomorrow for the fixes. I also noticed that all the options one can use for "Item
Description" (italics, bold, underlined, font size, color, etc) were all missing from the page (when
filling out the listing and from the revision page.

So. Just a "be advised" for any/all of you that sell on eBay, you may run into similar
issues when listing your items...or maybe you already have.

sounds like an error that could have been fixed quickly and easily using the html format and
    tag

i only use the html editor for ebay listings so the only errors i get are the ones i make.

Yea, Lance, you'd think that would be the case but it's been over 26 hours since it happened.

And while I'm at it, I'd like to advise any of you using Windows 8 NOT to download
any free version of 8.1. I did thru a Microsoft ad on one of my free games from them. Totally
messed up my printer. Took 7 different remote techs and hours of watching their work trying
to get it fixed. Finally found that 8.1 had removed the printers driver. Found it and fixed it. At
one point, I was told I had to dump my entire hard drive to flash drive, re-install everything
while isolating 8.1 to remove it. Microsoft allowed downloading the beta version with no way
to uninstall it. Now Microsoft's boards are littered with hundreds of complaints dealing with
just as many different issues. I posted how totally and completely irresponsible it was for them
to release a version knowing there were going to be major problems depending on your
    hardware, software and apps.

Thought my eBay probs where also associated with 8.1. Glad it isn't!

i think i update my programs about every 2-3 years. i manually turn off ALL updates to anything i can find, especially windows.

get it to a spot you like and programs you are familiar with and leave it!

although that prob has nothing to do with your ebay problem.

try 2 methods, ebay interface or turbo lister. if one is having problems, usually the other works

I used to use Turbo a lot for listings but now I prefer to do it all 'by hand'. After eBay
upgraded it several years ago, I didn't like the new format.

Doesn't really matter as this is eBays problem to fix and I'm not going to try to
work around it. I'll wait til they fix it.

I have seen those issues with my listings and others. Seems an f5 refresh brought the page up whole each time.

I haven't been able to leave feedback or delete things from my watch list since Friday.

There have been issues starting Friday for me as well. Seems to be doing better this evening though.

Another issue they have is with "Unsold Items" not showing up on "My Ebay" home page.
I get a notice in my email but with the item not readily available, you have to relist it from scratch.
