  Beautiful coin.... Not sure what may be causing tarnish since it is pure gold and gold does not tarnish... must be residue from slabbing... Cheers, RickO

  The .0001% copper is toning of course. The girl looks like a nude painted with gold makeup. Not too flattering a look but OK on the coin.

  I have a raw specimen in the original government packaging and it's still original. Could the slab be causing this discoloration? Is there something in the soft rubber gasket that is out gassing something that is being deposited on the surfaces of the coin? Is there anyone here that has this coin in the OGH where the coin is discoloring?

  Not sure what causes it. About 10% of my gold buffalos and 10% of my gold spouse coins also have the same toning developing.
  All buffalos are slabbed. None of my spouses in the original mint capsule have the toning, only the slabbed ones. Could be a
  coincidence, I don't know.
