Test for a Bent Silver Dollar?

I had a Morgan come back from one of the grading services with a net grade because the coin was bent. I cracked out the coin and placed it on our granite counter top and sure enough the coin was obviously not perfectly flat, it wobbled a little when I pressed on a side near the edge. The coin didn't have any signs of uneven wear and I never thought about trying to check to see if it was bent before I sent it in for grading.
Does anyone know exactly how the grading services check for a bent coin and if they check all the coins they grade?
Thanks!

I've wondered about this too, since all the pictures showing the raw coins waiting to be graded are on velvet trays. Thus, I believe there are a series of tests they perform, which are probably considered to be trade secrets, and thus not advertised to the public.
I also wonder how they determine which early dollars have been holed and plugged, or otherwise repaired.
